What is that weird term? 💪 ⬇️
Hypertrophy....
You’ll often hear this term in conversations about nutrition, training, and gaining size.
Put simply, hypertrophy is the process by which we all can increase our muscle mass. Technically, it is the growth in the size or cross-sectional diameter of the muscle fiber.
This is the fundamental process required for increased muscle mass.
You may hear some mention of hyperplasia in these conversations. This is the actual formation of brand-new muscle fibers. However, this is much less common in Humans.
Instead, we need to direct our focus toward the nutrition and training goals for stimulating hypertrophy.
