Tonsils are composed of the same type of tissue that makes up the lymph nodes, and are part of the body's natural defense system. We get tonsillitis when our eliminatory organs (bowel, kidneys, lungs) are unable to expel the accumulated wastes and impurities in the body. The lymphatic system (de-toxifying) system, which includes the tonsils then becomes involved. If it is having difficulty eliminating the waste, the lymph glands swell causing the tonsils to become infected.
Modern medicine surgically removes the tonsils thinking that this will help the situation. In my opinion this is a harmful procedure that should be avoided at all costs as it silences the body and removes an important part of the body's drainage system. Removing the tonsils does not treat the underlying cause of toxicity, it merely silences the body. The person who has had a tonsillectomy will often say that they have never felt better since getting their tonsils removed. But the toxicity is still there in the body and goes deeper and deeper into the cells. Remember we were never born with organs that we don't need.
Antibiotics may temporarily ease the symptoms, but the reason people get recurrent tonsillitis is because they have not changed their diet and cleansed the toxicity within.
For people who get recurrent tonsillitis make sure you are having good bowel movements i.e. 2-3 daily. Drink plenty of warm water and lemon daily with a pinch of cayenne pepper as this is a kidney flush. Introduce plenty of raw garlic into the diet as it is natures antibiotic. Include plenty of fresh juices, vegetables, fruits, sprouted nuts and seeds. Avoid mucus forming foods i.e. dairy, sugar, salt, wheat and refined carbohydrates. Echinacea, cleavers, calendula, burdock, myrrh, thuja and agnus castus are some of the many herbs that are excellent for tonsillitis. Anyone who has had a tonsillectomy should ensure their diet is at its optimum and do regular systemic cleansing.
