Your loyalty and hard work have helped make our homes place of comfort, dignity and belonging. Each day, you bring warmth, patience and kindness-qualities that truly define the heart of our care.

We deeply appreciate your years of service, your resilience through challenges, and your continued dedication to making a difference in the lives of others. Thank you for being an essential part of our family and for all that you do to uphold our mission and values. ❤️

We will be holding our annual “In November we Remember” mass in honour of our dearly departed residents on Thursday 13th November at 2.00pm in St. Michael’s. All are very welcome to attend this special mass.

🐇 We were thrilled to welcome back Rosie and Dennis from Animal Magic to St. Michael’s this afternoon. The residents and staff thoroughly enjoyed petting and talking to the wide array of animals that arrived!…and not a bat in sight 🎃 😉

Today we said goodbye to one of our longest serving members of staff, Mary Warren ❤️ We will miss your great sense of humour and can do attitude and we wish you every success in your new career Mary. Congratulations also to Ella who is shortly celebrating her 21st birthday and will also soon be leaving us to return to college. Great adventures await, good luck Mary and Ella 🥰

😳WHAT!…..Seamus Hayes didn’t win “Escort of the Year” at the Rose of Tralee International Festival last night!

His charisma and style was the talk of county Limerick and over the border into the Kingdom, even the Goat at Puck Fair fancied his chances 🌹

😢 sadly not to be this year, the good news is….there is always next year 🥰

Great fun was had by all at the annual summer BBQ

We had beautiful calming scents wafting through the home this week as we used lavender from the garden to create lavender bouquets. The residents also enjoyed a stained glass window craft, now proudly displayed for all to enjoy 😍

🌹 We welcomed a very special visitor to St.Michael’s yesterday 🌹
Celine O’Meara, who is representing the United Arab Emirates in this year’s Rose of Tralee International Festival (and originally from Caherconlish) very kindly took time out from her very busy schedule to visit our residents and share her warmth, beauty and musical talent with us all. Our residents had great fun preparing for Celine’s visit to us, making sashes, cards, rose drawings and dickie bows. Many thanks to all who made the day so memorable especially Patsy who played tunes on her accordion, to Seamus who took his ‘Escort’ duties and gave Celine a great St. Michael’s welcome and presented Celine with homemade card signed by the residents and staff (surely Seamus is in line to win ‘Escort of the Year!!). A big thanks also to Pat Hourigan (husband of our staff member Anne) who shared one of his own poems about Caherconlish “The Fairy Fort of Pust’ and which we read to Celine and also for his history story of Caherconlish.
The residents were extremely excited to have met Celine and cannot wait for the Rose final in August. We hope you win Celine and come to visit us again as the winner of the Ross of Tralee 2025 🌹👑❤️
