It's that time year again when we think about warm fireplaces, Christmas pudding and family gathered round the tree. So please, spare a thought for those who are forced to leave their homes, families and gifts due to domestic violence.

We are collecting again this year for ADAPT Domestic Abuse Services at Quay Clinic . All contributions welcome.

What you can donate:
Small gifts for children of all ages and women
Gift cards eg Penney's, omniplex cinemas etc
Pyjamas, underwear and socks for children of all ages and women (all sizes) - new only please.
Selection boxes or similar
Cash

Any cash donated will be used to buy some of the above. All donations will be delivered to Adapt House in Limerick on Monday evening Dec 22nd so please have them in by then.

As usual, anyone with a chronic illness, aged over 65 or caring for an older/sick person is advised to get both (provided you haven't had Covid in the last 3 months).

Our nurse Kate Leahy has just retired. Kate has been a core member of our team here at Quay Clinic for 28 years, seeing the practice through premises moves, full computerisation and many other changes. We would like to wish her a happy healthy, fun-filled retirement and thank you Kate for all your hard work and dedication to our patients. All of our best wishes🥰

Update: Quay clinic has re-opened at 11am.

Quay Clinic will not open for the duration of the red warning tomorrow Friday. We will open once it is safe to travel, provided staff can get in. Updates will be posted here. Until then please follow the instructions on the answering machine.

I would like to wholeheartedly thank the members of an Garda Síochána from Newcastle West and the traffic corps who came to our aid today and assisted in getting a very ill patient to UHL when the ambulance was delayed. The patient is improving and being treated in hospital. Without the help of the Gardaí, the story could have been very different. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
