A common question I am asked is what does a day in my life look like. I set myself up well before I start any day. It’s not all work in my businesses, work there’s a combination of work and also work on myself.
❤️ I once believed me looking after my physical health the rest of me would be fine when actually I was ignoring the emotional side because it was too difficult and was brought up with them belief that you should show emotions.
❤️ Mentally my mindset was very much stuck in fixed I can’t do that. I would never be able to do that task. No belief in myself.
❤️ For me routine is key, waking and getting up at the same time where possible and doing my gratitude journaling, and self Reiki treatment is my 1st routine I do most mornings. Normally between 5-6 AM.
❤️ Gratitude journaling can be written or spoken. Giving thanks for everything and everyone in my life. Placing my hand 🖐️ on my heart space, and feeling the words of I am so eternally grateful for xyz. Power of the words, this gives me time to acknowledge and give thanks for a lot of blessings.
❤️ Reiki- is my energy treatment I get to work upon myself, it helps me to support my nervous system. This treatment helps me to give my energy system a clear out, helps me to release energy that’s no longer for my highest good and replacing it with more beneficial energy. It’s brings me into the power and energy of connection. It allow me to respond to life rather than react to life.
❤️ Exercises routine then do exercise bike and walk to get Dopamine and Oxytocin flowing the happy hormones. I love exercising it gives me so much energy, it fills my cup, brings me clarity, allows me to reset my mindset. Exercise for me supports my physical, emotional and mental health. Normally between 7-9.
❤️ Healthy food- good proper breakfast normally around 8.30-9 normally porridge, fruit and nutmeg, no coffee, no tea, I only drink water and warm water for the winter and lemon 🍋. Lemon in water helps the digestive system to kick start after the nights sleep. Some morning would be weetabix and yogurt and seeds and nuts.
❤️ Work then so whether I’m in my wellness practice or in my bookkeeping practice the most important part in any day is movement.
❤️ Lunch between 12.30-1.30 I try to have at home, include some protein like Turkey on bread, and incorporate some fruit.
❤️ Dinner for around 5.30-6, mixing protein with veg, and a biscuit or two.
❤️ Food for me is so important I could have a really sugary start to the day and it would give me energy and then I’ll be fairly flat after 30 minutes. Porridge and weetabix both great breakfast fillers allowing me to feel fuller for longer.
❤️ Throughout the day I am in constant noticing my energy if I’m feeling sluggish that’s the days I slow things down. I check in on my menstruation cycle, and seeing also is this perimenopause and I check in how I am feeling, if I’m stressed how can I release it.
❤️ Awareness is huge, something I wasn’t mindful of when growing up. Giving myself compassion on days that I’m experiencing tiredness. This was something I really worked hard on as growing up unless your leg was hanging off that was the only reason you stopped. Being comfortable and not feeling guilty about resting.
❤️ I am a firm believer in resting up speeds up recovery. ❤️🩹 I spent a number of years ignoring my body when it was crying out for help.
❤️Wind down time for me is about 8.00-8.30, getting ready for sleep at 9. And aim to get 8 hours sleep depending on the moon cycle, and menstruation cycle that can change.
💫 My number 1 tip is spend some time every day connecting with yourself and being honest with yourself How Are You Doing Today.
