St John Ambulance Limerick is made up of volunteers who want to give freely to our community. These are some of the team who did just that this weekend and we greatly appreciate that.

Our volunteers train and practice their skills to prepare themselves for whatever happens while on duty, then we go out and use those skills on duty. This weekend our team are providing pre-hospital care at the international frisbee competitions in Limerick. Our role is supporting our community and we’re out there doing that.

Our volunteers train all the time to provide the best of care to our patients, but we must always remember to look after ourselves too. Tonight our team in Limerick were doing their manual and people handling training to best ensure that while helping others they look after themselves as well. This training is one of our obligatory subjects so all volunteers can do their work safely. Thanks to Paul O’Sullivan from SJ Cork who came up tonight to provide this training.

Congratulations to these volunteers who recently completed their FAR training with us here in Limerick. Our organisation has two functions, to teach and to provide first aid cover. We always welcome volunteers who are willing to give up some time to support our community.

On behalf of St John Ambulance Ireland, I extend Season’s Greetings to all who connected with our Charity throughout 2025—whether as a patient, trainee, partner, or contractor. It is our hope that your engagement with us brought support, learning, and benefit.

Our mottoes, Pro Fide and Pro Utilitate Hominum—For the Faith and In the Service of Humanity—invite us, especially at Christmas, to reflect on how we serve others and how we might continue that service with renewed purpose in 2026.

This season also calls us to remember with gratitude those who left us for their Eternal Reward during the past year. We hold in particular affection the volunteers of St John Ambulance who passed away in 2025. Their dedication, kindness, and service remain a lasting gift to us all.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas 🎄 and a Happy New Year 🥳. May the year ahead be one of peace, hope, and continued service to humanity.
