Thank you to the Byrne family who presented St Carthage's House with a cheque for €3080 on Friday night. This was the proceeds of the Helen O'Byrne Memorial Walk held in October. The Byrne/O'Byrne family are great supporters of St Carthage's House and it's is greatly appreciated.

We had our residents Christmas party last week. This was a great afternoon with lots of music, dance and a visit from Santa and Mrs Claus.
A big Thank You to the following people who make this a great day for the residents.
Santa & Mrs Claus, Mari Mina pharmacy who supply gifts for the residents, Lismore Fire Service for escorting Santa & Mrs Claus. Of course Mad Mike who supplies the music and entertainment for the afternoon.

Huge credit must go to the TY students in Blackwater Community School. Once a month they host a golden oldies movie afternoon and then in December have an active retirees Christmas party which is filled with good food, music and dancing. Our residents really look forward to these outings and continually sing the praises of these young teenagers.

The Villierstown Brownies brought in these beautiful Christmas decorations for our residents. Several of the residents put them on their walkers to pimp them up for Christmas!

Mochuda National School paid us a visit on Tuesday. This group sang some festive tunes for our residents, then followed it up by handing out beautiful hand drawn Christmas cards and sweets to all the residents.

We were lucky enough to have a visit from the Landers School of Irish dancing last week. This talented group entertained our residents with their wonderful dancing and it was thoroughly enjoyed by all. This group are regular visitors and it is much appreciated.

The residents here in St Carthage's are very lucky to always be remembered and included by the young people in our community. This week we will highlight some of the wonderful gifts, cards, parties and singing they have got to enjoy recently.

First up are the children of Bunscoil Bothar na Naomh. The fifth class created these beautiful centrepieces for each resident, which were a beautiful addition to our tables for our Christmas party.
Then on Monday morning we had the pleasure of a visit from the school choir who entertained the residents with some lovely Christmas songs.
All of school also created personalised festive cards for our residents.

Thank you to Lismore Fire Brigade for ensuring Santa and Mrs Claus got to our residents Christmas party safely today!!!

Today we had the pleasure of bringing Santa and Mrs Claus up to St Carthages for the residents Christmas Party.There was great fun and craic to be had with DJ Mike O Rourke providing the music. We would like to thank the staff at St Carthages for their generosity providing teas and biscuits.Well done to all for a great afternoon.
