The flu virus circulating this year (H3N2 subclade K) seems to be more transmissible and virulent than previous years. We’ve seen a lot of flu in the last 10 days.

Modelling suggests flu will peak in late December/early January.

Flu and other winter vaccines is the best way to mitigate.

ECDC say the current vaccine is effective against severe influenza.

Hi all

Two doses of the MMR vaccine are required to protect against measles.

These are typically given at 12 months and in Junior Infants in primary school.

If you are unsure if you are fully vaccinated please check with the immunisation office on 091 523122.

If you require a booster please contact the practice to arrange an appointment.
