20/01/2026

If you’ve been dealing with ongoing foot or heel pain, Shockwave Therapy is a treatment we use in clinic to help restart the body’s natural healing process.
It’s a non-invasive treatment that uses sound waves to stimulate healing, improve blood flow, and reduce pain — especially in chronic conditions that haven’t responded to rest, stretching, or orthotics.

Shockwave Therapy uses gentle sound waves applied to the painful area to:
✔ Increase blood flow to damaged tissue
✔ Stimulate tissue repair and regeneration
✔ Reduce pain by calming over-sensitive nerves
✔ Help chronic injuries heal when they’ve become “stuck”
It’s particularly effective for conditions such as:
👣 Plantar fasciitis / heel pain
👟 Achilles tendon pain
🏃‍♂️ Chronic foot, ankle & lower-limb tendon injuries
⏱️ Treatment is quick (around 10 minutes)
🚶 Walk in, walk out – no downtime
📅 Usually performed over a short course of sessions

Shockwave doesn’t involve injections or surgery, and is used as part of a tailored podiatry treatment plan to get you moving comfortably again.

An ingrown toenail occurs when the edge of a toenail grows into the surrounding skin, typically on the big toe. This causes pain, swelling, and redness, and if left untreated, it can lead to infection.
Our highly experienced podiatrists will assess, diagnose and recommend the most effective, long-term solution.

This treatment plan may include:

• Conservative Care: Removing a nail "spike" (spicule) is a common clinical procedure to treat ingrown toenails. If the condition is persistent, a long-term care plan involving surgical or conservative management is often necessary to prevent recurrence.

However not all nails fully respond to conservative treatment, they may be more complex therefore requiring surgery.

Nail Surgery procedures we offer:
• Partial Nail Avulsion (PNA): Removing the side of the nail under local anesthetic. A chemical called phenol is often applied to the root to prevent the nail from growing back ingrown.

• Total Nail Avulsion (TNA): Complete removal of the nail if it is particularly thick or deformed.

Our patients are fully supported throughout the postoperative recovery period. This includes:
• Provision of all required dressings
• Comprehensive verbal and written wound-care instructions
• Scheduled follow-up appointments as clinically indicated until complete healing is achieved.

Suffer no longer! Book your consultation today.

Are your heels cracking you up?

Cracked heels (heel fissures) happen when dry, thick skin on the heel splits due to pressure from walking, often worsened by lack of moisture, prolonged standing, or open-backed shoes, leading to pain and potential infection

Our experienced podiatrists can provide professional medical treatment for cracked heels to relieve pain, promote healing, and prevent complications.

It is especially important for individuals with diabetes or poor circulation to see a podiatrist for cracked heels, as self-treatment can lead to serious complications or infections.

Are Your Feet Driving You Mad?

Don't start another year with feet that are keeping you up at night.

Itchy feet can be a real problem.. Let our registered podiatrists help!

Some common causes of intense foot itching may be:
• Athlete’s Foot (Tinea Pedis): A highly contagious fungal infection often picked up in public areas. It typically causes itching, scaling, and redness between the toes or on the soles.

• Dry Skin (Xerosis): The most common cause of itchy feet. Because feet lack oil-producing glands, they can easily become rough, flaky, and itchy, especially in cold winter months.

• Contact Dermatitis: An allergic reaction or irritation from substances like new laundry detergents, shoe dyes, or rubber materials.

• Nerve Damage (Neuropathy): Often associated with diabetes, medications like chemotherapy, vitamin deficiencies to name a few.

• Medical Conditions: Persistent itching can sometimes indicate underlying issues like liver disease, kidney disease, or thyroid conditions.

It's important to consult your podiatrist if you have persistent discomfort. We can help you identify the specific cause of the irritation.

There's a nip in the air!

Chilblains are small, itchy, and often painful swellings on the skin that occur as an abnormal reaction to cold, damp conditions. They typically affect the body's extremities, such as the toes, fingers, heels, ears, and nose.

Symptoms usually appear several hours after exposure to cold:
❄️ Skin Changes: Small red, purple, or dark blue patches that may look swollen.
❄️ Sensations: Intense itching, burning, or stinging sensations, which often worsen when you move into a warm room.
❄️Severe Cases: Blisters, skin cracks, or small ulcers can develop, which may lead to infection.

Our podiatrists can help diagnose, treat symptoms of, and provide advice on preventing chilblains. You should see a podiatrist if your chilblains persist for more than a few weeks, show signs of infection, or if you have diabetes or circulation problems.
