🎈At Bridhaven, playing games is part of our everyday fun! Our activities team are always listening to our residents, planning games and activities that everyone enjoys. From card games to board challenges, there’s always something to bring smiles and laughter. 💛

We love seeing our residents engaged, happy, and making the most of every day together.

👏We were delighted to welcome local students yesterday who popped in to spend time chatting with our residents.

Our residents loved the chance to reminisce, offer advice, and hear about school life today, while the students gained a glimpse into the wisdom, humour, and life experience that our residents bring to every conversation.💛

A heartfelt thank you to the students for taking the time to visit, the smiles said it all. 😊✨

On Friday, we joined the national celebration of Adult Safeguarding Day here at Bridghaven, taking time to reflect on what safeguarding truly means to the people at the heart of our home, our residents.👏

Throughout the day, residents shared their thoughts on what safeguarding means to them, words like respect, kindness, feeling safe, and being heard came up again and again. 💬💖

It was a lovely reminder that safeguarding isn’t just about policies, it’s about creating an environment where everyone feels valued, protected, and supported every day.💛

🏡 Adult Safeguarding Day 2025 | Friday, November 7th

This Adult Safeguarding Day, Bridghaven Nursing Home is highlighting the importance of Assisted Decision-Making, ensuring every resident and adult in our care has their choices respected and supported.

The Assisted Decision-Making (Capacity) Act 2023 gives adults in Ireland the legal right to make decisions about their health, finances, and daily life, with support when needed.

Key points to know:
🔹 Everyone is assumed to have capacity; any communication challenges must be addressed.
🔹 Support can take different forms: Decision-Making Assistant, Co-Decision Maker, or Decision-Making Representative.
🔹 Planning ahead through an Enduring Power of Attorney (EPA) or Advance Healthcare Directive (AHD) helps safeguard future choices.

At Bridghaven Nursing Home, we are committed to creating an environment of trust, respect, and empowerment, where residents’ decisions are always valued.

👻🎃 A look back at Halloween in Bridhaven! 🎃👻

We had a brilliant time celebrating Halloween with our residents and staff last week. The Resident & Staff Dress-Up Competition brought out everyone’s creative side, there were some amazing costumes and plenty of laughs along the way!

Congratulations to our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners, who each received a balloon prize to mark their place in the competition. 🎈

A big thank you to all the staff and residents who joined in the fun and made it such an enjoyable day for everyone. 💛

🧙‍♀️ Happy Halloween from Bridhaven! 🧙‍♀️

We had some very special visitors at Bridhaven today, the local witches flew in for Halloween! 🎃

They brought plenty of laughs, a few “spells,” and lots of smiles to everyone here. The residents (and staff!) loved every minute. 💛

As the evenings get darker and the air turns cooler, there’s still plenty happening here at Bridhaven. 💛

The shorter days don’t stop us from getting out and about, whether it’s a stroll in the fresh air, a little trip into town, or joining in on our favourite activities back home. 🚶‍♀️☕🍂

Our calendar is always full of things to enjoy, from music and crafts to bingo and good chats over a warm cup of tea. We love keeping spirits bright and making every day feel special, no matter the season. ✨🏡

📖 A quiet moment well spent 💛

One of our residents recently enjoyed a relaxing read in our reading nook, a cosy spot in our Dementia Care Suite designed for calm, comfort and connection.

At Bridhaven Nursing Home, we’re proud to have a range of thoughtfully designed spaces that support our residents’ wellbeing, from peaceful reading corners and activity rooms to beautiful garden areas and welcoming communal spaces.

It’s all about creating a homely environment where residents can relax and enjoy their day in comfort. 💕
