Gildea's Opticians Maynooth Opticians; Contact Lenses; Sports Eyewear; The Maynooth practice opens Monday-Saturday with late opening on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

As an independent practice Gildea’s Opticians prides itself in providing a personalised quality service but we also strive to give excellent value, with ongoing special offers. We have been providing optical services since 1987, initially in Kinnegad and Kilcock, and extended to Maynooth in 1994. The Kilcock branch was originally run in conjunction with a community Pharmacy and consolidated into the Maynooth branch in 2006. The Kinnegad practice is located at Gildea’s Pharmacy , Main St, and operates Friday only- call the Maynooth branch @ 01-6290370 for appointments. Sports Vision

As qualified Sportsvision Optometrists we specialise in assessing and improving aspects of vision specifically related to sporting performance. Research shows that vision and sporting performance are directly related. It is more complex than simply recording how well you can read a chart or see straight ahead. Consideration is taken of eye dominance, peripheral awareness, binocular vision, eye speed and tracking, contrast sensitivity and colour filter preference.Performance in sport can be further enhanced using specific sportsvision testing and correction - see www.gildeasopticians.ie
