TENNIS ELBOW: UNDERSTANDING YOUR TENDON 📊

Not all tennis elbow is the same! Understanding what stage your tendon is at helps guide the right treatment 🎯

The Tendon Continuum:

1️⃣ Healthy Tendon ✅ Strong, resilient, pain-free

2️⃣ Reactive Tendinopathy ⚡ Sudden overload causing swelling and pain. More common in younger patients Recent onset

3️⃣ Degenerative Tendinopathy 📉 Longer-term cell changes Usually painless but higher rupture risk Develops over time

The MOST important thing?

Your tendon CAN heal and get stronger again if you do the right things! 💪

Here's what makes tennis elbow tricky:
Pain and injury don't always happen at the same time. You might have:

Got persistent soreness on the outside of your elbow that won't go away? That's tennis elbow - and you don't need to play tennis to get it! 💪

Who gets tennis elbow?

Anyone who uses their arm and wrist a lot:

✅ Typing at a computer 💻
✅ Lifting heavy objects 📦
✅ Gripping tools 🔧
✅ Repetitive work tasks

What's really going on?

It's NOT inflammation (tendonitis) - it's a tendinopathy!

Your tendon has changed structure trying to handle the stress you're putting on it. Think of tendons like chains connecting your bones and muscles, they can handle a lot, but too much repetitive stress causes structural changes.

The good news?

It's not "damaged" in the usual way , it just needs to be loaded in the right way to get strong again! 🎯

Here's the thing: Pain and injury don't always match up! You can have a tendon that looks terrible on a scan but doesn't hurt, or one that looks fine but hurts a lot.
