I'm very proud to announce that from Monday 5th January, The Misneach Centre will be hosting Ruhama, an Irish charity that works to combat sexual exploitation, prostitution, and human trafficking, while supporting women who have been subjected to these harms.

Ruhama is a non-government funded organisation providing essential, life-saving services to women living in highly vulnerable and often desperate situations.

Sexual exploitation and human trafficking are happening across our country, often hidden in plain sight, and Ruhama works tirelessly to offer safety, advocacy, and practical support to those most affected.

We are honoured to support Ruhama by providing a safe and confidential space for their Midlands caseworker, and a place of safety for women who may need immediate support and understanding.

If you would like to support Ruhama, they are currently seeking:
• Free office space
• Donations
• Volunteers

Please consider getting in touch with Ruhama directly if you are in a position to help. Every act of support, no matter how small, makes a difference.

We are delighted to stand alongside Ruhama in upholding dignity, safety, and hope for women who need it most.

Ruhama is here to help you if you have been impacted by prostitution or Trafficking for Sexual Exploitation. Contact us by texting REACH to 50100 or by Freephone to 1800 020202

💫 Big congrats to Nuala! 💫

We’re absolutely delighted for our lovely therapist Nuala, all the way from Tipperary, who became a fully accredited psychotherapist yesterday 🎉

Anyone in this field knows just how much work, commitment, and heart goes into getting fully accredited. It’s a massive milestone and so well deserved. Nuala is now fully accredited with APCP, and we couldn’t be prouder of her.

She does incredible work, especially in the areas of addiction, trauma, abuse, and grief, and brings such care, depth, and compassion to everything she does with clients.

Well done, Nuala, we’re all so happy for you and lucky to have you on the team 💙

An unexpected message landed in my inbox today and honestly… it made my heart smile.

My dear friend Terri, was visiting Notre Dame University in Perth, WA, sent me a photo of my name on a timber plaque on the wall for the Gerty Ewen Award.

Notre Dame is where Terri and I first met, on the very first day of our degrees and we both went on to graduate, each receiving an award.

But seeing my name there today? That really caught me off guard.

It’s not every day your name stays on a wall in one of the oldest universities in the world. I’m feeling very chuffed and proud.

It sent me on a lovely wander down memory lane, pulling out photos from my graduation & awards night at Notre Dame and later my Masters graduation from IICP Dublin.

Such precious moments, frozen in time, that I probably didn’t fully appreciate back then.

A gentle reminder that the journey matters, the friendships matter, and some moments deserve to be paused and honoured.

Very grateful today 💛

Christmas awakens old memories, unspoken words, and the grief we don’t talk about.

Especially the grief that comes after estrangement.

I’ve written about my own personal experience of my sister's death and the complicated emotions that followed.

If your heart feels heavy this season, this may resonate.
