Mother’s Day can be a beautiful day for some, but for many it can also bring difficult emotions. Today I want to gently check in with those who may find this day particularly hard.
For those who long to be mothers but cannot have children. Those who have experienced miscarriage, infertility, or pregnancy loss.
For those who have lost their mother and carry the ache of that absence. Those whose relationship with their mother was painful or complicated. For those who grew up in care, or without the safety of a nurturing mother figure.
For those who are estranged from their families, or those who mother others quietly, through fostering, caring, mentoring, or simply being a safe place for someone in need.
Days like today can stir grief, loneliness, anger, longing, or memories that feel heavy.
Whatever you are feeling today is valid. You are not alone in how you feel.
