As we come to the end of 2025, we just wanted to share a quick update on whatβs been a very busy year for the Annyalla Cremartin Community First Responders ππ
This year, our volunteers responded to 87 emergency calls from the National Ambulance Service. In 99% of cases, our responders were with the patient before the ambulance arrived, offering care, reassurance and support when it mattered most β€οΈβ±οΈ
We also put a big focus on training in our communities π₯π
Over the year, we facilitated 9 training courses across Cremartin, Annyalla, Lisnagrieve, Doohamlet, Ballybay, Clontibret, Castleshane, Tullycorbett and Braddox, and trained 107 people in CPR and the use of an AED π«β‘ Itβs great to see so many people willing to learn these lifesaving skills.
Thanks to a very generous donation on the behalf of a local family, we were delighted to help install a new AED and cabinet at Clontibret Presbyterian Hall β€οΈπ β another important lifesaving resource for the area.
Our members also attended various training days around the country this year, including the North East Training Day in Dundalk π, and we were delighted to welcome new responders who are now ready to respond to calls when needed π
The year was topped off with a really proud moment for the group, with our own Gerry Atkinson winning the Ireland Volunteer Award in the Emergency Services category π β a fantastic achievement and very well deserved.
A huge thank you to our volunteers, their families, and everyone in the community who continues to support us in any way. We really couldnβt do this without you π
