December 1st is World Aids Day ❤

This year’s campaign is focused on ending new HIV cases by 2030. And, it’s actually looking good! In Ireland, the latest data indicates a 15% drop* in new cases of HIV.

However, 39% of those new cases were diagnosed late*. This is why awareness and testing are so important.

HIV is part of the HSE Free home-testing service. You can order a test kit by visiting sexualwellbeing.ie, or scan the QR code in our graphic. The website also contains information on HIV, along with links to further resources.

Now in their fifth decade, McElwee totalhelth Pharmacies are a true Laois family business, having been established in 1975 by James A and Mary McElwee with their first store in O'Connell Square in Mountmellick. Their son Peter is now Managing Director of their three stores also located at Connolly Street Mountmellick, and The Cedar Clinic Portlaoise.
