Tracing interesting Hanuman stories from across the world :
In Sri Lanka, a tribe called the Mathang tribe, claims that Lord Hanuman is immortal and visits them every 41 years. He not only visits them, but also talks to people and imparts his supreme knowledge to the new generations of the tribe. The people of this tribe consider Hanuman as their Guru who shows them the right path.
The Mathangs also maintain a ‘logbook’ where they record all the words spoken and ‘leelas’ performed by Lord Hanuman during his visits.
Mathang tribe are descendants of Vibhishan whovhelped Hanuman during the Ramayan era. Mathang tribe is largely disconnected from the outside world.
As per their claim, Hanuman recently visited on 27th May, 2014. The details of this visit are documented in the log book. Hanuman's next visit is likely to be in 2055.
