What a day, after years of hibernation for the body to have built up the milage enough to actually enjoy running the # I am so grateful. A massive thank you to . Made a massive difference recovering from all the long runs and was fantasizing about it during the last 5km. And not
least that my first ever sourdough actually turned out pretty OK I'm only delighted. Here's hoping can top off the day with a win.

I have been practicing yoga since I was studying for my leaving cert. I read somewhere that tree pose helped concentration. I would stand in tree taking s break from the books 😆. Over the years I have moved from focusing on powerful vinyasa flows to now enjoying a more restorative practice. I started my training with last September and the embodied style of practicing yoga has really landed with me. Embodied yoga is about instilling confidence in people to listen to and trust their own body. To take the prop, to find the extra 5 or 10% more comfort. Especially having worked so much on a 1:1 with people basis as a physiotherapist i know that every body is individual and that rarely are 2 the same. I am very excited to see where this journey will take me.

After years on Instagram I'm finally going to introduce myself. I'm Alwyn, a Dub living in mullingar for 20 years. I am a physiotherapist, pilates instructor and yoga/meditation teacher in training. I have been working in private practice for 15 years and I'm my own studio/ clinic for 10 years. I'm also back working in the HSE for the past 3 years. God, when I write it out I can't believe how fast the years have gone. I have 2 boys who keep me busy cheering on the side lines and 2 little terriers who give me the best welcome home everyday. In my free time I love exercising, outdoors when possible and variety is key for me. I also love cooking/ baking and I'm looking forward to hosting the great irish bake for CHI in the coming weeks (keep an eye out for more details soon) .

I love the smell of deep heat in the morning 😆. Hit me like a wave. As always, blown away by the athletes running the dublin city marathon today. It is always so inspiring to see those who are taking part. So many motivations and determination. What you can't see are the months of hard training and not forgetting those who unfortunately didn't make the start line this time around. Missed the brother who was obviously running too fast to spot 😂

My heart is full. Yesterday's event went like a dream. Some regular dippers, some newbies and such a lovely community feel. We are blessed with our lake but more by the people. Blown away by the support yesterday and a massive thank you to all who donated online or on the day and who showed up, baked, played music or just sent the positive vibes. On current count we are over €6000. thank you all x x bigger next year
