How I Work:

One of my main therapeutic approach incorporates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) helping people to alter their mindset, thinking habits, change behaviour, and regulate negative emotions. Not everyone seeking therapy is looking for behavioural change, and just want someone to be listened to, heard and understood, maybe help in making some tough decisions, to feel supported in their struggles in life. I tailor my therapeutic approach to suit your individual needs, empowering you to find your inner resolve and resources, helping you grow, blossom and achieve the most you can from therapy. My Background

I come from a Corporate Human Resources background, and have been a Counsellor and Psychotherapist since 2011. My past psychotherapy and counselling experience includes voluntary work with adults and minors in Tallaght, D24, before setting up my private practice based in Naas, Kildare in 2013. My Location

I am based online through private and confidential video call sessions in Ireland and UK.

Love…it’s complicated!
There are so many individualistic components to love.
Bowlby’s 4 attachment styles determine how we attach to others. Sternberg’s ‘triangular theory of love’ divides love styles into ‘intimacy’, ‘passion’ and ‘commitment’, and combines these styles into further love types, such as, ‘liking’, ‘companionate’, ‘empty’, ‘fatuous’, ‘infatuation’, and ‘romantic’.
Before these love theories, Greek philosophers described 7 ways to love ‘eros = passionate love’, ‘philia = friendship love’, ‘storage = familial love’, ‘agape = universal love’, ‘ludus = uncommitted love’, ‘pragma = practical love’ and ‘philautia = self-love’.

How we define our own wellbeing is a necessary requirement for maintenance and relapse prevention planning in recovery. What is in your wellbeing cup?

A CBT technique is to rate the intensity of the emotion, however, we have a tendency to magnify and overestimate this rating. Benchmarking our 10 out of 10 level of emotion helps us to realistically rate the current emotion when recording in mood diaries, journals, logs, charts and mobile apps. Ultimately identifying more realistic emotional responses to triggering situations.
