We welcome Merala in our team in Pain and Rehabcare Toughers clinic!
Meral is originally from Turkey.
Finished her degree of Physiotherapy from Medipol University Istanbul.
Completed training in dry needling, kinesio taping, and manual therapy.

She would treat orthopedic patients and providing therapies such as reformer Pilates, manual therapy, deep tissue massage, cupping therapy, and other related techniques.

After gaining three years of professional experience, I moved to Ireland to further develop her skills. There, I had the opportunity to meet an excellent physiotherapist like Myla.
I am currently continuing my career and professional development alongside her at Pain and Rehabcare Physical Therapy.

FIDN for Scar Tissue

Dry needling is suggested as an effective adjunctive treatment for reducing scar-related pain, improving the appearance and mobility of the tissue, and helping to reorient collagen fibers for better strength and function.

Effects of Dry Needling on Scar Tissue
Pain Reduction: Dry needling often results in a significant reduction of pain and itchiness around the scar area. It achieves this by calming inflamed nerves and desensitizing the area.
Improved Mobility and Function: The technique helps to loosen and mobilize tissue layers, allowing them to move more freely over one another. This can lead to increased range of motion and overall physical function, especially in cases where the scar tissue has caused restrictions.
Tissue Remodeling and Appearance: Dry needling can help flatten raised scars, minimize redness, and bring them closer to normal skin color. It achieves this by stimulating the body's natural healing and regenerative mechanisms, promoting the proper orientation of new collagen fibers, which are often tangled in scar tissue (like "cooked spaghetti"

Mulligan’s Cervical SNAGs™ (Sustained Natural Apophyseal Glides) are widely used manual therapy techniques designed to restore pain-free cervical motion and improve neuromuscular control.
A recent randomized controlled trial compared their effectiveness with Cervical Stabilization Training (CST) in individuals suffering from chronic neck pain 🧠💆‍♂️
𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻
👥 36 participants with chronic neck pain
🗂️ 3 groups:
⚪ Control (home exercise)

Pain intensity 🩹 • Cervical ROM 📏 • Proprioception 🎯 • Head posture 🧍‍♂️ • Deep neck flexor endurance 💪 • Disability 🧾 • Neck awareness 🧭
🔍 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀
✅ All groups improved after treatment.
🔥 Both active interventions were superior to control in:
→ Reducing pain (p = 0.001)
→ Improving DNF endurance (p < 0.001)
→ Decreasing disability (p = 0.007)
📈 Mulligan’s Cervical SNAGs™ produced greater gains in range of motion and neck awareness.
📏 Cervical Stabilization Training achieved better head posture and proprioception.
⚖️ Neither technique replaced the other — each targeted different functional deficits.
💡 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲
➡️ Both interventions are effective and complementary.
🧭 Mulligan’s Cervical SNAGs enhance mobility, sensorimotor control, and pain-free movement.
🎯 Cervical Stabilization Training improves postural stability and proprioceptive accuracy.
