So easy to make your own apple cider vinegar
I started this 3 days ago and it's great to see the magic in
action. ❤️❤️❤️
Apples: Organic apple scraps (cores and peels) or chopped apples (about 2/3 full in a jar)
A bag of organic apples in supervalu are around 2e odd
Water: Filtered/distilled water (avoid chlorinated water).
Sugar: Organic cane sugar (1 tablespoon per cup of water)
Jar: Glass jar, mason jar ( use the clip glass jars from IKEA)
Cover: Cheesecloth, elastic band and I like to use a coffee filter to sit under the cheese cloth to stop any flies getting through into the apple cider vinegar when it's fermenting
Store it in a dark cool place and I like to give it a stir every day for 2-3 weeks
Strain out the app and compost them.
Put the liquid back into the jar
Cover it again with a cheese cloth and elastic band
Let it carry on fermenting for another 3-4 weeks to deepen the acidity.
Store and if you're really lucky a "mother" will develop
