Fungal toenail + curly (involuted) toenail is a combination that often leads to pain, inflammation, and ingrown nails.
👉 What you see in the photos:
▪︎ thickened, discoloured nail (onychomycosis)
▪︎ strongly curved nail plate (curly / involuted nail)
▪︎ inflammation and discomfort

➡️ After professional treatment:
✔︎ removal of damaged, infected nail parts
✔︎ pressure relief
✔︎ thorough cleaning of nail folds
Result?
✔︎ immediate pain relief
✔︎ reduced inflammation
✔︎ healthy foundation for further treatment and regrowth

💡 In cases like this, the best long-term solution is often a nail brace (orthonyxia), which gradually corrects the nail growth and prevents recurrence.
⚠️ Don’t wait until it gets worse
The earlier you act, the easier and less painful the treatment.

Keratoderma is more than just “hard skin.”
It is a condition in which the normal keratinisation process of the skin becomes disrupted. Instead of shedding properly, the skin begins to build up in excessive layers, becoming thick, hard, less elastic, and sometimes painful or prone to cracking.

Keratoderma most commonly affects the palms of the hands and the soles of the feet. It may have a genetic (inherited) origin or may be acquired as a result of illness, pressure, friction, or contact with irritating substances.

In inherited keratoderma, the problem is not caused by poor hygiene or lack of care. It is related to genetic changes that affect how the skin forms, renews, and sheds itself. In practice, this means excessive build-up of hardened skin cells, reduced elasticity, and a greater tendency for painful cracks to develop.

Although the underlying cause cannot be reversed, the symptoms can be managed with the right care and treatment, helping to improve comfort and quality of life.

👉 If you notice excessive thickening of the skin on the hands or feet, it is worth seeking professional advice.
