Initially I studied in college to become a PE teacher. Growing up I had always been into physical activity and always in physical shape. However, I came to a point in my life where I returned home from America and became overweight. My confidence was shot, I became self-conscious about my body and myself, I felt sluggish, unworthy, not enough, and like I wasn’t going anywhere or doing anything with my life. Soon after this, I lost my uncle to suicide which was an extremely low point in both my life and everyone around me. I portrayed a different image on the external, but I knew something had to change…

I Then Started To Look Up And Study The Mind. I Realized How We Live, What Happens To Us, How We Feel, How We Look Is Completely Within Our Control. I decided to use these events as a way of shaping myself physically and mentally, I lost all the weight and got into the best shape of my life by working on my mental and emotional fitness as much as I did on my physical fitness. It changed my life around and that’s when I decided my true destiny was to do the same for others. I realized that the body, mind and spirit are all connected and is one system. And with working on our physical, mental and emotional fitness we reach and feel a place where we can live life to the fullest. It is my fundamental belief that when we begin to change ourselves internally followed by externally, we open up a new world to ourselves, we live with true health, true fitness, true happiness, true confidence and much more.

At DGC we don’t obsess over outcomes.
We focus on turning up.

Because when you consistently show up…
the goals look after themselves.

The gym shouldn’t feel like a chore.
It should become part of your rhythm.
Something you look forward to.
Something that moves you forward.

Everyone’s journey is different.
Different starting points.
Different challenges.
Different goals.

And we celebrate that.

Most gyms throw you into a session. We don’t.

Would it be much easier for us as coaches to throw you straight in? Of course it would, but we aren't here to make it easy for us, were here to make it easy for you!

Move your body because you want it to last.
Fuel yourself to feel good, not guilty.
Rest without feeling lazy or guilty.
Train for life not for looks for other people.
And stop speaking to yourself in a way you’d never speak to someone you love.

That’s real self-love.
Not once a year every day.

Maybe this Valentines Day don't forget to direct it back in the mirror.

Most programs aren’t designed for this stage of life in gyms. You are expected to do the same as everyone else and keep up with the young people. But the challenge for 50+ is...

Recovery takes longer.
Joints need care, not punishment.
High-intensity, big classes can leave people sore, tired, or worse than before.

After 50, fitness isn’t about smashing yourself.
It’s about staying strong, mobile, confident, and independent for life. It's future proof for the next 20-30+ years.

And that requires a different approach.

🎄 This Christmas, let’s bring joy to children who need it most!

DGC is proud to support Zaks Toy Run 2025, teaming up with Lost Rats MMC to spread cheer to the children of Temple Street and the Children’s Ward at Our Lady of Lourdes, Drogheda.

For many of these brave little ones, Christmas will be spent in hospital. One small gift can create a moment of magic, hope, and love.

If you can, please donate a toy big or small, fun or comforting for children from toddlers to teens.

📦 Drop gifts at DGC by December 5th and we’ll ensure they reach the kids in time for Christmas.
