For the longest time I confused wholeness with perfection. I thought if I could just get it “right” aka people-please, overachieve, push harder, then I’d finally be loved and accepted. But that’s not wholeness.
Carl Jung called wholeness individuation, the journey of becoming who we were created to be. Healing is not a finish line - but a lifelong journey. Every step toward authenticity is a step toward wholeness.
That’s why I love the art of kintsugi where pottery is repaired with gold. The cracks don’t lessen its value, instead they make it unique and beautiful. Just like us.
Take your first step toward wholeness. Step into who you were always meant to be. 💙

Grief Casts a Long Shadow
Grief isn’t only about death.
It can stem from the loss of a relationship, a pet, a dream or a sense of identity - anything that has significant meaning to you.
Sadly, we live in a grief-illiterate world that expects grieving to follow a timeline.
“How long will this last?”
“When are you going to get over it?”
But grief doesn’t work like that because when something significant is lost, there is no “getting over it.”
There is only learning how to carry it and how to live alongside it. And this takes as long as it takes. Each person's grieving process is unique.
Your grief is valid, and there is no finish line you have to reach.

Focus on doing the things that bring you joy and fulfilment and you’ll have less time for worry and anxiety.

Probably one of those you should read twice 🙃
You absolutely cannot change other people. Your energy would be best invested in changing what you CAN control, and that would either be your mindset, boundaries or even physical location if it comes down to that.
Emotional contagion is real and who you spend time with has a direct impact on your emotional well-being.
So make the necessary changes to keep yourself healthy and happy.

Monday motivation: try to go through this week with massive awareness of your internal dialogue.
Be sure to catch yourself when you’re being critical or harsh with yourself and reframe it to kindness and self compassion.
You’ll be amazed how this practice over time will increase your self esteem and confidence.

Whenever you have a difference of opinion it’s important to take a deep breath and become super curious.
Ask questions to help you understand why the other party perceives things differently.
And really listen to understand, not just to argue back. Listen with an open mind. And an open heart.
Partner with the other person so that you can learn and grow from each other, instead of reach an impasse and remain stuck.
See the conflict as an opportunity instead of a threat and you’ll be amazed by the results!

Your body replaces more than 810 000 cells per second.
Each new cell “listens and learns” from your thoughts and emotions.
Therefore every second you have an opportunity to train 810 000 new cells to respond in a better way than in the past!
Learn to change the way you think. Change your perspective to have a better life with less suffering.
Suffering is optional. Yeah, you get to choose how you’re going to think about your circumstances.
When you focus on your thinking instead of the problem at hand, problems tend to fix themselves 🤗

In an interview with Oprah, Brené Brown says that according to her research, perfectionism is not about striving for excellence.
Perfectionism is more about having the mindset that if you look, do, live and work perfectly, you can minimise the uncomfortable emotions of shame, blame and judgement.
It's the fear that the world will see you as you are and you won't measure accordingly.
Perfectionism is not only protecting you from this fear, but unfortunately, it is also isolating you.
Know the difference between healthy striving to do your best vs using your results to protect yourself from shame or judgement.
The one will fuel you, and the other will keep you stuck.

In 2013, my life was literally falling apart. A vicious cycle of rejection, inferiority and approval addiction, left me with severe anxiety and depression. I was unfulfilled in my career and in my second marriage. I constantly doubted my ability to parent my two sons from my first marriage...Enter life coaching!
Through the radical transformational power of life coaching, and lots of hard work, I went on a journey of self-discovery.
A new awareness and acceptance of who I truly am showed me my purpose and calling in life. It revealed my strengths and corrected the many lies I used to believe about myself and my perception of the world. I started making decisions based on my values, and started living a truly authentic life. My thoughts, words and actions became aligned.
Today, my marriage and family life is back on track, in fact, I’d go so far as to say, thriving. (Despite moving from Cape Town to Ireland in 2018.)
I left the IT industry after 20 years and I’ve subsequently qualified as an Erickson Certified Professional Life Coach. I am an ACC (Associate Certified Coach), accredited by the ICF (International Coaching Federation). I am also an accredited Enneagram practitioner.
I’m living my dream and helping women every day to get themselves out of the deep holes they find themselves in.
My passion lies in facilitating you to unlock & realise who you truly are and what makes you unique.
