Our Clinical Manager and Clinical Specialist Orthotist, Patricia McCotter, visited Ireland recently to provide update training and Scoliosis Training to a group of Prosthetists and Orthotists from APOS Ltd . Lead by Managing Director and Prosthetist and Orthotist, Brenda Clancy, the APOS Clinical Team had the opportunity to receive face-to-face training in Galway around measuring and prescribing Dynamic Movement Orthoses (DMO) for various neurological, musculoskeletal and genetic conditions.

Alongside working with the APOS Team, Patricia was able to travel to see some of our patients in Cork and Tralee. 2 x PROSTHETIST/ORTHOTISTS REQUIRED
An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 Prosthetist/Orthotists to join our Dublin and Galway based teams – with 1 position on the East Coast of Ireland and the other on the West Coast of Ireland with full support from our Galway clinical, administrative, manufacturing and innovation teams.

A.P.O.S. LTD was established in 2001 and due to continued growth, we are seeking to recruit two highly motivated and dedicated Prosthetist/Orthotists to cover existing clinics.

A.P.O.S. offer the opportunity to work in a pleasant dynamic innovative clinical environment with onsite manufacturing facilities, providing a high-quality patient focused service.
This position would suit motivated experienced P&Os - ideally with clinical experience in complex prosthetics and also in the field of paediatric, diabetic, spinal, rheumatoid and MSK orthotics.
Applications from graduate P&Os are also welcome for consideration for an internship role.

Due to expansion APOS Ltd are looking for a trainee orthotic technician preferably, but not essential, with relevant experience working in a production environment. Experience in shaping and moulding materials by hand or of making craft bespoke items in a commercial setting would be beneficial. Similar experience in a non-commercial setting or an achievement in leaving certificate engineering/technology subjects will also be considered. This role involves the production of custom medical devices by preparing plaster moulds, shaping plastics and foams and hand finishing on machinery.
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualities.
The ability to follow instructions accurately.
Have a positive attitude.
Be eager to learn new skills.
Be flexible, adaptable and capable of working as part of a team.
Full training will be given and an apprenticeship leading to a formal qualification offered.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: €12.30 per hour
