Today we celebrate a very special birthday for one of our residents… Happy 90th birthday to the wonderful Tom today. Tom is the trendiest, most stylish and dapper gentleman you could meet. He loves dressing up well for every occasion but we think he looks extra smart today on his special day. Tom is an absolute pleasure to care for, a man who asks for very little but gives so much in return. He is a wonderful friend to many but especially to his room mate Jim who he adores and vice versa. Tom loves nothing more than a sing song, any chance he gets to belt out a tune or two. He entertains us all with his stories of his days in England and his time watching the show bands. Tom is always always smiling and in good form, he lifts your spirits just by saying good morning. He is so courteous and mannerly and respectful of all around him. Tom helps out those who need it, always offering a helping hand. He can soften even the hardest of views and is an all round genuinely good guy. Happy birthday Tom, we hope you had a great day with all your friends here and afterwards, with your family for a lovely meal. Here’s to plenty more 🥂 🍻 🎂 ❤️

We are still celebrating here this evening…. What a win…what a game… what a team 🇮🇪 🇮🇪 🇮🇪 we are so proud of the boys in green… they sure gave us something to shout about!! One of the best results we have have seen in a long, long time. Very happy residents here tonight 🇮🇪 🇮🇪 🇮🇪

Today we celebrate 2 very special ladies… Helen and Jenny.

Helen is one in a million, a true lady, as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. She is a friend to all, always ready to help out and ever willing to take part. Helen loves doing jobs around the house and going for walks with her best friend, Mandy. Helen had a great day with all her friends here and with her family who spoiled her. Happy birthday Helen, here’s to many more ❤️ 🎂 🥂

Happy birthday to our fabulous chef, Jenny. Jenny is such a special person to us all here. She is a friend, a confidant, an advisor, a helping hand, an all round decent human being who is always, always smiling and in good form. It is always a pleasure to work shifts with Jenny, you are guaranteed to have a good laugh and a seriously delicious dinner! Thank you Jenny for all you do for everyone, we hope you know how much you are appreciated. Happy birthday from everyone here ❤️🎂🥂

Well what can we say… what a way to pass an afternoon! We thoroughly enjoyed our fashion show with Ciaran and Jason from Raspberry Red. From start to finish the lads were so professional and patient and certainly know their style. Our fabulous models did such a fantastic job… we can’t thank them enough. A special thank you to our beautiful resident Ber, special friend of St. Anthony’s, Mary, and of course our ever willing fashionistas Shauna and Rachael who together were a wonderful team. A fully inclusive event that was enjoyed by all. And of course we loved the shopping afterwards, a few nice pieces were purchased! A special thank you to Catherine Lewis and our friends at The Lakeside Hotel & Leisure Centre who created a wonderful scene, loaning us the red carpets and beautiful lanterns. Everyone agreed that it made the event that bit more special so thank you guys. Thank you to all our family members and friends for joining us and of course a big thank you to our wonderful team here, who without them, these days just don’t happen 👏 ❤️ great start to our Christmas festivities 🥳

We are so looking forward to this one tomorrow… fashion show and pop up shop from the wonderful guys and girls at Raspberry Red boutique. We will have a cheese and wine reception during it and are all looking forward to kicking off our Christmas shopping season in great style. Looking forward to welcoming everyone tomorrow from 3pm. Put on the glad rags and enjoy the show 👗💃🥻👞👔

Let us introduce you all to St.Anthony’s newest recruit… resident cuddler, all round entertainer and general dogs body… the beautiful SUKI!! 😍😍 The happiness this little lady has brought to our home already has been clear to see! She is our cutest, fluffiest, most adorable staff member to date 😂 (just don’t tell the rest of em)!

Happy birthday to one of the most beautiful ladies we have ever met… a lady who’s smile lights up every room she walks into and whose positivity and optimism for life shine as bright as her smile. Jean is an inspiration to us all, she is so caring and kind and is always in good form. It is a pleasure to be in her company each day, her gentle personality and extremely likeable character make her a very popular lady here. Happy birthday Jean from all your friends here, where you are so loved and adored. We hope you had a great day celebrating with your family 🎂 💐 ❤️

Our ladies met with Chers Creative Cabin today to make some decorations to sell at the Christmas fair in Pallasgreen at the end of the month. And what a beautiful job they are doing. It’s amazing what you can get done whilst chatting and enjoying each other’s company. Well done everyone 👏

A very special winner of employee of the month for October… the award went to a long serving member of staff who has been nothing short of dedicated to her role as HCA during the last number of years. Martina is the worthy winner of the accolade this month in recognition of the kindness, compassion and empathy she shows towards all in her care. She is the most gentle, caring, loving person you could me, the type of person you would want looking after your Mam or Dad. Martina works so hard to ensure residents are happy and cared for each evening, being more than just their carer but a companion and friend. It’s a true testament to her when residents know her name, always look for her and often are heard saying “I’ll wait for Martina”. There isn’t a thing Martina wouldn’t do for her residents, she is dependable and accountable and is an instrumental member of the team. Martina is the one who will always have your back, will always compliment you and praise you even if you don’t deserve it. Her slefless acts in her care for others don’t go unnoticed. On top of all that, Martina has a heart made of pure solid gold and treats all her residents with the upmost respect, keeping their best interests at the fore of everything she does. As a colleague and friend, Martina is out on her own. She will pick you up when you are down, will go out of her way to help you and is the first to message to make sure your ok, putting everyone else’s needs before her own. Martina, it is a pleasure to know you and to work with you. This award is a long time coming and we hope you treat yourself to something nice. It’s so well deserved 👏 👏

We had the most fabulous afternoon when our very own Shauna, accompanied by Teresa on Keyboard, entertained us all. We went back in time to all the old classics, residents all sang a song and some even had a dance. It was lovely to see so many residents turn out for this one, such is the sheer popularity of these two ladies. Thank you girls for a fabulous afternoon, we really did enjoy it ❤️

Another day, another birthday for another beautiful lady… a big happy birthday to everyone’s friend, Mary. Mary is the definition of a true lady.. humble, kind and so, so caring. Mary is always in good form, always smiling and happy and ready for a chat. She loves nothing more than her time with her family catching up on local news. Mary cares for all around her, she’s the first to call when someone needs a bit of help and always puts others before herself. A selfless, unassuming and quiet lady who is loved by all who have the pleasure of knowing her and caring for. Happy birthday Mary, from all here ❤️🎂

Joan had a wonderful time for her 90th birthday celebrations. She enjoyed a fabulous afternoon tea with her family and friends last Friday and afterwards a sing song as her cousin played some tunes on the accordion. A beautiful afternoon for a beautiful lady ❤️
