A very happy belated birthday to two very special people in all our lives… to Bridie and to Michael!!
Bridie is the life and soul of our home, the one who always makes you laugh and always has the last word!She is a friend to everyone, she is kind, caring and is always happy especially when there’s a cup of tea on the go. Bridies favourite thing to do is to spend time with her family every evening, followed by a game of bingo or two. Happy birthday Bridie from everyone here. You are one in a million ❤️🎂
Happy birthday also to Michael. Michael enjoyed his day with his family yesterday and was in great form today for round 2, as he said himself. Michael is a quieter gentleman who loves sports and listening to his music. Michael is happiest watching his beloved Limerick GAA or Ireland in the rugby while enjoying a cup of tea or 2. Happy birthday Michael, we know you had a great day with your family 💙🎂

Happy birthday to our beautiful Bridie today, the most gentle and kind lady you could wish to meet. Bridie is a friend to all, she cares deeply and is such an interesting lady to have a chat with. Bridie loves to reminisce about the good old days and loves a good sing song. She’s also partial to a dance and sees the best in every situation. Bridie is so thankful and respectful to all who care for her, she is the true definition of a lady. Happy birthday Bridie from all your friends here ❤️🎂

Busy days here… a mens trip to Ballykisteen hotel for a quiet hour with coffee and chats, lots of games, exercises, dancing, time with Suki, Imagination Gym, prayers etc. phew we will sleep tonight. A big thank you to all the girls with us on work experience, you really are making such a difference in our residents lives ❤️

A busy few days. Celebrating Chinese New Year, Irelands win over England in the rugby and tonight, Limericks win over Tipperary. A big thank you to Jenny and Debbie in the kitchen for the fabulous Chinese buffet, it was beautiful! Well done ladies. We can not let the day pass without thanking Ava who was on work experience from John The Baptist CS during the last week. Ava was a natural in this role, caring, kind and attentive to all our residents needs. On top of all that, she was extremely creative, making all the decorations for our buffet night. Ava demonstrated maturity beyond her years and we were so greatful to her for the interest and care she showed to all here. Well done Ava and thank you, from all of us ❤️ Ps we also celebrated the birthday of a beautiful lady who enjoyed cake surrounded by friends earlier.

Happy birthday to our beautiful Peggy today. She had a great day celebrating with her family. Peggy is a gentle, soft and caring lady who is so kind and helpful to all around her. She is a friend to all, always willing to share a smile to brighten your day or offer a few words of advice. She loves to keep up with all the local news from her home village and lives for her family visits. Peggy we know you enjoyed your day surrounded by those who love you. Happy birthday and here’s to many more to come ❤️🎂

A massive happy birthday to two very special people today… to Bernadette and John, we wish you both nothing but good wishes and good health for the year to come. Bernadette enjoyed a big family outing last night but we still wanted to mark her special day so we hosted a tea party for John and herself in Bridies kitchen. A lovely celebration for two lovely people that was enjoyed by all in attendance. Happy birthday to you both from all the team here.
We enjoyed beautiful homemade pancakes this morning, some traditional lemon and sugar and some filled with fruit and chocolate. Each to their own and it was lovely to recall recipes handed down through the generations.
We held a productive residents meeting also which had a good attendance.

❤️❤️❤️It was a weekend of celebrating love in all its traits and disguises… a love of food, a love of good music, a love of the people around us. It’s fair to say we all enjoyed the various events over the last few days. A big thank you to Dee Morrissey for great entertainment on Friday, for having everyone up on the floor dancing and creating a wonderful atmosphere in our home. Thanks to all family members who joined us. A big thank you to Debbie and Mary in the kitchen for the fabulous food for our party and for our Afternoon Tea day on Saturday. A wholesome weekend spent with the best company ❤️❤️❤️

Our multi talented ADON, Mary O’Shea Barry, is taking on her latest challenge as a contestant in her local rugby clubs fundraiser, Jungle Fundraiser Stage show. Mary will be put to the test with some gruelling challenges awaiting her, but it’s all for a good cause and will be a bit of craic along the way. Anyone who knows Mary, will know that she is Wonder Woman, juggling a busy home life along with her dedication to her role as ADON here at St.Anthony’s. Mary would appreciate if anyone would like to sponsor her and Kilfeacle rugby club, no amount is too small and every little bit helps. We would like to take this opportunity to wish Mary and all the contestants the best of luck in the coming weeks and also to Golden/kilfeacle GAA and Kilfeacle and District RFC clubs on their quest to raise much needed funds 💙💙

Another busy day here… we got out for a lovely drive to some of our residents own communities and stopped for ice cream along the way, we made our own homemade pizza, played lots of games, did exercises with Karen, had prayers with the Legion of Mary and of course spent lots of time with our favourite furry friend, Suki 🐶 ❤️

We are enjoying keeping active these last few weeks and are so greatful for the help from all our students. They seem to bring out the best in us all and we look forward to welcoming them every week. We had lots and lots of games, exercises, time with Suki, arts and crafts and preperations hve begun for our Valentines party this Friday ❤️
