Happy birthday to Tipperarys biggest supporter… the one and only Alice or “Lala” as we discovered today 😂😂 this lady is not with us all that long but by God has she made a huge impact on all of our lives. An absolute treasure of a lady, full of knowledge, fun and has an answer for everything 😂 Alice is a big fan of the “Chase” quiz show and likes to spend her days in the parlour with her friends answering the quiz questions. She has struck up wonderful friendships with her fellow residents and staff and is great fun to be around. Alice is always looking out for others and is completely selfless when it comes to putting others first. She is kind, caring and patient, the type of person you enjoy spending time with. Alice we hope you had the best day surrounded by friends and family. You truly deserved it ❤️

Another beautiful lady’s birthday today… happy birthday to the one and I’ll let Noreen.. a care free, gentle little lady who loves nothing more than a hot cup of tea and a game of 45. Noreen is the most beautiful smiles that lights up every room, she is always in good form, always smiling and is a good friend to those around her. Noreen loves her comforts and to be warm and likes to collect rugs and cushions on her walks. She has the wittiest one liners you ever heard, always making us laugh. She knows exactly what she wants and gets it. Noreen loves to spend her days with her family playing cards and chatting and she seems to win every single game. Noreen we hope you enjoyed your day out with your daughter and your cake with your friends. Happy birthday from everyone here x 🎂 💃 🥂

A very happy birthday to a special lady today… Mary we hope you had the type of day that you truly deserve, full of fun and laughter and delicious cake. Mary is the definition of a true lady… with such a soft and gentle personality. She is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside and has a personality to match. Mary is a friend to all, someone we all call to for a chat and a bit of advice. Mary welcomes everyone, treats everyone with respect and cares deeply about all around her. She possesses so many good qualities that it’s hard to list them but she makes all our lives better, just by being in it. Mary had a great day celebrating with her family and friends. We wish Mary many more happy birthdays to come 🎂 🎈

We have to say and we might be biased, but we have the most amazing team here at St.Anthony’s. Last Monday, Santa paid us a visit and delivered presents to EVERY resident in our home, presents bought for them by their secret Santa ie a staff member. The absolute joy on everyone’s face when they received their gifts… the budget was blown well out of the water but it was worth it to see and hear the looks of happiness all round us. Well done to all the team here who have really helped to make this Christmas so special for our residents. It was very clear to see that everyone knew their residents, taking time to pick out beautiful gifts which they knew residents would enjoy. As some residents start to go home for the holidays, we would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a safe and happy Christmas and we look forward to bringing you along with us on next years adventures. A big shout out to Carepack.ie and all their volunteers for their amazingly generous care packs sent to our residents this year! The thought and creativity that went into the packs was just beautiful. On behalf of all our residents…. Thank you thank you thank you 🙏 ❤️

A very special happy birthday to our friend Michael today. A true gentleman loved by us all. Michae is a pure rogue and we love him for it. Asks for nothing only good food and nice hot tea. Michael loves going to the daycare centre and having his family visit. We wish Michael all our best wishes today and for the year ahead x 🎂

A big happy birthday to two special ladies yesterday…
Happy birthday to beautiful Chrissie, a beautiful soul inside and out. A lady so loved by all who know and have the pleasure to care for her. She is a friend to all, so gentle, kind and understanding. She is always in good form, always so greatful for anything you do for her and is simply a pleasure to be around. She pours her heart and soul into everything she does, a very special lady to all of us indeed. Happy birthday Chrissie and we look forward to celebrating again next year. Chrissie enjoyed a fabulous little party with her devoted family in the afternoon 🎂 🎤 💃
Happy birthday also to Teresa. She is one in a million, funny, sarcastic and that little bit of sass that everyone loves to see. She has a twinkle in her eye, loves a little bit of mischief and is for sure, loved by all who know her. She makes us all laugh so hard everyday. Teresa is the type of lady that you want to be around every day, each day is different but she never fails to make us smile. A lady who looks for nothing but a chat and a laugh and who loves to see people happy and smiling. She oozes personality and spirit and is one of the most beautiful ladies you could ever meet. It’s not everyday you get to see a full blown 14 piece band in your sitting room but that’s exactly what happened here yesterday when we welcomed the super talented, CJ Kickham band, from Tipperary. What a pleasure it was just to sit back and listen to some Christmas songs and carols and if you closed your eyes you would have thought you were a million miles away. Beautiful sounds emanating from our day room. Thanks a million to all in the band for travelling, it was lovely to watch you perform again. Merry Christmas to you all from everyone here 🎅

We had the most fabulous afternoon yesterday for our residents Christmas party. What a day we had from start to finish. We danced and sang and ate all round us and of course enjoyed a tipple or 2. A big thank you to our kitchen team of Jenny, Mary and Debbie for the fabulous food, to all our residents and their families who joined us for the afternoon and of course, the one and only, Dee Morrissey for the wonderful entertainment. Poor Dee was not feeling the best but refused to let our residents down and performed a wonderful afternoon of music. Credit where it’s due, no one would have known by her music that she wasn’t so well such is the effort she went to, to keep everyone dancing. Dee we really appreciate what you did for us yesterday, a real professional, and true lady! As always, a massive thank you to the team here who pulled out all the stops as usual. One of the most wonderful days of the year and one of the highlights of our Christmas activity schedule that’s for sure ⭐️ 🎅 🎄

Wow wow wow…. all we can say is we were amazed by the Sliebh Feilim singers this morning! What a beautiful performance that was so special for some of our residents. A beautiful arrangements of songs and the tones were just stunning. A big thank you to Mary Theresa for organising this visit, we were delighted with it. Real easy to listen to which is just what we needed before our Christmas party this afternoon! Well done one and all 🎤 💃 🎅

As we welcomed our final school of a busy Christmas 2025, we are delighted that it is the children from Nicker NS who get to wish you all a very merry Christmas. What a busy two weeks it has been, making the most wonderful memories with local school children. We can not thank each and every school enough, for taking the time to come and visit us and to brighten our residents day. We wish all the children and teenagers from all the schools that visited us, a very merry Christmas and a happy new year for 2026. We are looking forward to next year already 🎅 🌲
A special thank you to the children from Nicker NS who brought our schools visits to a close with a brilliant musical performance. The children are so, so talented. Each and everyone of them could play an instrument of some discription, that takes dedication and lots and lots of practice. Well done boys and girls and to your teachers too ❤️

“Killeagh” by the boys and girls of Barna NS. What beautiful little singers this group of children were. They really brought festive cheer to our home this morning, a group of very talented kids. Thank you to all the boys and girls of Barna NS for taking the time to visit us and share their Christmas spirit with us. Merry Christmas from everyone here 🎄

A big well done and thank you to the boys of Doon CBS who entertained our residents this morning with their fabulous singing and tin whistle playing, finished off with a special request for Mr.O’Connell to sing “Where the Mulcair river flows” which was enjoyed by everyone. Then it was the turn of the boys and girls from Monard NS who brought all the energy and performed some songs we hadn’t heard before. Their voices together were just beautiful. Well done to all the students and their teachers, you were all brilliant. Happy Christmas from everyone here. After lunch, Fr.Tomas, Fr.Liam and Fr. Tom celebrated mass and Michael Ryan provided the music. It was another beautiful mass. Michael stayed on to sing for everyone long into the evening, one of our favourite things to do. A very busy, but wholesome day 🤶 🌲
