gather in Kavanagh’s for an evening of inspiration and camaraderie.

As dusk settled over Portlaoise on Monday, October 13, 2025, the familiar warmth of Kavanagh’s Bar welcomed Portlaoise Toastmasters and guests as their faces illuminated by anticipation and conviviality. Presiding over the evening, Donal Cahill introduced the theme, “How I relax on a ?” inviting reflections that ranged from the comfort of a roast dinner to the simple pleasure of time spent with loved ones.

The prepared speeches commenced with a journey—both literal and figurative—led by Otmar Wullich. In a speech aptly titled “A Journey,” Wullich, a lecturer, consultant, poultry farmer, whose roots trace from Germany to Sixmilebridge to Portlaoise, captivated the audience with tales of adaptation and discovery. A Toastmaster of many hats, his multifaceted experiences, spanning academia, food and agriculture, lent depth and humor to the evening.

Next, Steve O'Rourke took the stage with “Do You Believe in Luck?”—a thoughtful exploration of fate and fortune. Steve's dynamic presence, expressive gestures and vocal variety prompted the audience to ponder whether luck is crafted or simply encountered.

Evaluations followed, delivered by Martina Walsh and Ann Duncan, whose constructive feedback underscored the club’s commitment to growth and excellence in public speaking.

After a tea break, the energy shifted to , orchestrated by Phuong HoaThai. Members and guests rose to the challenge of impromptu speeches, sparking laughter and camaraderie throughout the room.

The evening concluded with officer reports: Mark Bastow as Wordmaster, Martina Walsh as Listener/Ah Counter, Doreen Gowing as Timer and Robin Evans as General Evaluator. In a moment of recognition, Robin presented the Geraldine O Loughlin award to guest, Marta Zymula for her outstanding table topic.

The next meeting is scheduled for , October 28, 2025, in Kavanagh’s at 8 p.m.—a -time change in observance of the bank holiday. The club looks forward to another evening of inspiration and fellowship. Join us for the fun, learning and laugher. Go on, allow yourself to , and yourself.

Hi, I’m Marta Magic Mind
My journey has always been rooted in presence, care, and deep respect for others.

I began as a nurse in Poland, and continued my path in Ireland, working as a carer for the elderly – mostly supporting people living with dementia, Alzheimer’s, and Multiple Sclerosis. These experiences taught me how to truly listen – not only to words, but also to the silences in between.

For over 5 years now, I’ve been working as Marta MagicMind – offering the Hawaiian Lomi Lomi Nui massage, a deeply healing, heart-centered bodywork.
I also work with Reiki, bringing gentle yet powerful energetic support to the whole being.

For the past 4 years, I’ve been guiding Rebirthing Breathwork sessions, helping people release emotional blockages and reconnect with their inner truth.
As a certified therapist, I’ve been holding both individual and group sessions for over 2 years - creating safe spaces for healing, growth, and deep inner transformation.

Every person I work with is unique.
I offer a warm, nonjudgmental, grounded space - where your body can rest, your emotions can be felt, and your spirit can remember who you truly are.

🌿 I support the aware ones - those already walking their path with clarity, and those who are just beginning to feel… that there may be more.

Through body, breath, and emotion, we work together using refined and powerful tools - Lomi Lomi Nui, Rebirthing, Reiki, and therapeutic sessions to help you reconnect with what already lives within you: clarity, strength, and truth.
