🎤 A wonderful initiative to encourage farmers to step away from the farm to enjoy some well deserved social & self-care time with their peers! Whilst this group are particularly talented and have had the backing of Clarksons Farm.{2026} & obvious associated resources to help them showcase this on the national stage, I hope their performance will normalise and inspire other farmers to come together to do something joyful together to prioritise themselves & enhance farmer wellbeing!

🌟 Fit Farmers Shortlisted for Irish Healthcare Centre Awards 2026 🌟

Delighted to hear this week that Fit Farmers has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Irish Healthcare Centre Awards 2026 in the category Healthcare Initiative – Patient Education / Lifestyle Project.

This award recognises initiatives that support people to take control of their health through education, lifestyle change and practical self-management.

While it is a lovely recognition for the programme, the real credit goes to the farmers who have taken part over the past number of years. Their willingness to show up each week, support one another and make small changes for their health is what Fit Farmers is all about. Many of them will be very excited to hear that the programme they have been part of is being recognised at a national level.

Fit Farmers focuses on practical health education and physical activity, supporting farmers to improve areas such as heart health, nutrition, blood pressure, sleep, stress and musculoskeletal health, while building strength and fitness for the demands of farming life.

A sincere thank you to everyone who has supported the programme so far, excited to look ahead to the final on May 22nd!

🎥 It takes courage to step in front of a camera. By doing so, Seamus, Peader, Pat, Michael, Bernard, Michael, Eddie & Tom are helping break barriers and encourage more farmers to prioritise their health.

💙💛Having participated in various Roscommon-based since 2019, these farmers shared their experiences.

🏆What stands out most? The craic, the real health and wellness benefits and the support that continues long after the programme ends. This is what keeps people coming back. It’s never just the 6 weeks. It’s the ripple effect afterwards! I couldn’t be more proud! 😊

Thank you lads, your testimonies are so appreciated! 👏
