🎥 It takes courage to step in front of a camera. By doing so, Seamus, Peader, Pat, Michael, Bernard, Michael, Eddie & Tom are helping break barriers and encourage more farmers to prioritise their health.

💙💛Having participated in various Roscommon-based since 2019, these farmers shared their experiences.

🏆What stands out most? The craic, the real health and wellness benefits and the support that continues long after the programme ends. This is what keeps people coming back. It’s never just the 6 weeks. It’s the ripple effect afterwards! I couldn’t be more proud! 😊

Thank you lads, your testimonies are so appreciated! 👏

🌏 World Cancer Day is a reminder that looking after our health matters, not just when something goes wrong, but every day. 🎗️Irish farmers may be more at risk of certain cancers because of long sun exposure, handling chemicals or being less likely to go for regular health checks. But when cancer is found early, it’s often easier to treat – and the outcomes are much better.

The App is here to support farmers with simple, realistic ways to move more, feel better and mind both physical and mental wellbeing.

⚠️ Find the cancer checks & warning signs section in body health to learn more 📲 No pressure. No judgement. Just practical support, when it suits you.

Women have always been part of farming and it was important to us that the Fit Farmers app reflected that reality.

The “Women in Farming” page was created to recognise women’s contributions across agriculture, share practical support and make it easier for to find trusted networks and resources because visibility, connection and support matter.

However farming fits into your life, this page is here to support women and help ensure their experiences are recognised and valued. We signpost live links to trusted networks and supports so users can find out more and connect.

So good to see the graduates of the 2024 Fit Farmers (& friends) still moving, meeting and motivated. A great January regroup on Thursday nights in Kilmurry Hall, full of laughs, energy and high spirits. Proof that when the programme ends, the habit (and the craic) doesn’t have to!

The Movement & Motivation Mentor

Welcome to my page, a place where you can keep up to date with my endeavours to educate, empower, support and motivate the individuals/groups I am fortunate and privileged to have the opportunity to work with. As an award winning nurse with over 20 years experience in health promotion, I create and facilitate evidence based health promoting initiatives for groups and individuals. Available on a consultancy basis by arrangement.

'Moore Movers & Fit Farmers’ are programmes of health, well-being and physical activity which were devised, designed and coordinated on a voluntary basis throughout 2017, 2018 and 2019 which aimed to inspire, inform and facilitate participation in health, physical activity and well-being initiatives in our vibrant community of Moore in South Roscommon.
