๐ Blue Monday & Mental Wellbeing ๐
You may hear today referred to as โBlue Mondayโ, often called the most depressing day of the year and said to fall on the third Monday of January. While itโs important to note that Blue Monday is a marketing-created concept with no scientific basis, it can still be a helpful reminder to pause and think about something that truly matters: our mental wellbeing.
This time of year can be difficult for many people. Shorter days, cold weather, and post-Christmas pressures can bring on the winter blues, low mood, low energy, or symptoms of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). These feelings are common, and there is absolutely no shame in experiencing them.
Mental wellbeing isnโt something we should only talk about on one day. Looking after our mental health matters all year round, and having access to supportive, inclusive spaces to learn and connect can make a real difference.
Thatโs why weโre sharing this post from West Be Well, with details of upcoming wellbeing workshops being held by Regari Recovery College at Roscommon Co. Library this Spring and Summer.
Whether today feels heavy or youโre doing okay, this is a gentle reminder that support, education, and community are always worth reaching for. ๐
REGARI Recovery College has published its wellbeing workshops programme for Roscommon for Spring/Summer 2026.
