Honouring the Light Returning.

The Silver Eel (Strokestown)
You are warmly invited to a gentle gathering in honour of Saint Brigid.
Together we will contemplate the four arms of Brigid’s Cross and the sacred spiral within, and be guided on an inner journey to meet Brigid herself, to receive your own personal message and gift to support you through the year ahead.
This is a space of reflection, blessing, and quiet renewal as we step into the unfolding light of the new season.

It was a wild year of swarm calls, crawling through tight roof spaces, boat trips with generators to off-grid lake houses, and late-night emails…
…with nowhere near enough posts here to show the work that thousands of people were part of, helping Irish bees keep “beeing”! 🐝
As in previous years, it’s nothing short of deadly what people can do when they share a common goal.
Thank you to everyone who reached out about a swarm, climbed a ladder, rushed to a call, or drove out to an old lady with bees pouring out of her fireplace to gently smoke them back out again.

How the story so far.......

HoneyMaiden Natural Cosmetics

Twelve years ago, I needed a truly clean, natural moisturiser I could use on my children’s dry, sensitive skin. Even the “natural” products I found were full of hidden nasties, so I decided to make my own.

In the hunt for Irish beeswax, my lovely Steve joined the local beekeeping group. That decision completely changed the course of our lives. Long story short, Swarms.ie was born, and we now live in the west of Ireland with our children, dog and hives of rescued bees – a small natural sanctuary on the shore of Kilglass Lough.

For HoneyMaiden, I use only beautiful, chemical-free, untreated beeswax from our rescued colonies, and just a small percentage of their honey so that the bounty is left to the bees and they can thrive.

All products are:

Handmade in small batches in the west of Ireland

Beeswax-based and free from parabens, silicones and mineral oils

Created with a “bees first” ethic – we only ever take a gentle excess.
