Stress and fertility

Why does stress management play such an important role in fertility? It’s not because you “just need to relax” or “take a holiday” - fertility is rarely that simple. However, chronic stress increases cortisol and other stress hormones, which can interfere with the delicate hormonal balance needed for regular ovulation, implantation and overall reproductive health. Acupuncture during the two week wait
The days after ovulation or embryo transfer - the luteal phase or the “two week wait” - can be one of the most stressful times of the cycle as it feels like everything is out of your hands. Fertility acupuncture during this time is about supporting the work your body is quietly doing, whilst helping you cope with any stress and anxiety you may be feeling.
