Many a young kid and adult was es**rted across the road by Mrs Eileen Daly, and unfortunately Mrs Daly passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Wouldn’t it be a wonderful tribute to this wonderful lady if we lined strand street on Saturday morning from 9:50 as we es**rt her on her final journey. I think every kid from 1978/79 would have been given safe passage from Eileen and everyone always had a kind word to say about the glamorous lollipop lady stood out hail, rain or shine.

RIP Mrs D as I knew her and may you rest in Eternal Peace.

Eileen Daly, Née Cahalane, Skerries, Co. Dublin, (late of Ballymacowen, Clonakilty, Co. Cork) 9th March 2026, peacefully at Moorehall lodge Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her loving husband Laurence. Sadly missed by her loving and devoted children Martin, Fionnuala, Séamus, Lorcan and Donnacha, adored thirteen grandchildren Niall, Cillian, Gavin, Mark, Robbie, Conor, David, Paul, Daniel, Mark, Sofia, Lucy and Tess, sister Rita, son-in-law Martin, daughters-in-law Christine, Connie, Maria and Joanne, brother-in-law Paddy, sister-in-law Kay, nieces, nephews, relatives, extended family and a large circle of friends.

Sadly missed by her loving family, daughter Lisa, son John-Paul, husband John, daughter-in-law Ciara, adored six grandchildren Kate, Eve, Grace, Cara, Evan and Rian, brothers, sisters, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and a large circle of friends.

Tomorrow I think the town should come to a stand still, and pause and reflect on the amazing life off a wonderful lady and family friend since we moved to skerries 53 yrs ago. This lady and her husband Tom embraced my parents and us kids at the time🙏I grew up on her genuine free range Turkeys every Christmas, and mostly ever veg they grew, for our shop back then. A true and utter lady and will be sadly missed by all her family and close friends. RIP Mrs O’Rourke I will treasure our memories.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Catriona (nee Mansfield), parents Lila and Jack and brothers Ivan and David.
Devoted and much-loved father of Caroline and Paul, cherished partner of Trish, adored grandfather of Conor, Rebecca, Rory, Finn and Molly. Dublin, formerly Griffith Avenue, Marino) February 7th 2026, peacefully, in her ninety second year, surrounded by family in the tender care of the staff of St. Francis Hospice, Raheny. Eldest daughter of the late John S. and Mary Murphy, Predeceased by her sisters Mary and Jeanne and her three infant siblings. She will be sadly missed by her sister Betty, her brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, neighbours and friends.
