SECOND BOOSTER DOSE OF THE COVID-19 VACCINE

A second booster vaccine is now recommended for some people who are at higher risk from serious COVID-19 illness.

You should get a second booster if you are:
• 65 years or older, or
• 12 years or older with a weak immune system

You can get your second booster at least 4 months (at least 120 days) after your first booster. You can check the date of your first booster on your digital COVID cert.
If you have had COVID-19 since your first booster, wait at least 4 months after you tested positive or from when your symptoms started.

How to get your second booster dose

If you are 65 or older, you can choose to:
• book a vaccine appointment on a day and time that suits you, or
• go to a walk-in booster clinic for your age group

We are not running booster clinics at the moment but will post an update if the HSE request we do so.

For more information please see the HSE website:
https://www2.hse.ie/screening-and-vaccinations/covid-19-vaccine/get-the-vaccine/covid-19-vaccine-booster-dose/ #:~:text=You%20can%20get%20your%20second,from%20when%20your%20symptoms%20started.

Without a booster, you are more at risk of serious illness if you get COVID-19. Read about how to get your booster dose.

We have a NEW payment system here at Skibbereen Medical Centre.
We have partnered with Billink and now have the ability to send a payment link directly to your phone. You simply click the link to pay for your Phone Consultation, Nurse’s Visits, Private Prescriptions OR to clear your Outstanding account with Skibbereen Medical Centre. It is 100% secure and will not store your payment details.

If you have to come into the Medical Centre, payment can be made in the normal way at Reception

In our quest to be kinder to the environment we have moved our invoicing to this method. Prompt payment would be appreciated.

Information for our patients regarding updating our billing system:

We are updating our billing system in the practice. We hope this will provide a more convenient way for our patients to pay a bill.

With this new system an SMS text message will be sent to your phone with a link to your bill balance, which you can then pay conveniently.

We are keen to point out that we are not introducing any changes to fees for services.

This new system will be operational from Monday 24th January 2022.

Thank you and Happy New Year to all our patients and their families.
