Grainne Gilmartin is the owner and founder of The Wellness Shop and Grainne has many years of Chiropractic therapy under her belt. Grainne has trained around the world in places like Oxford, London, and Florida and she now brings her extensive experience and knowledge back to Sligo, Ireland. Our business was born out of necessity, when Grainne was operating solely as a therapist, she noticed the lack of quality organic supplements available to the people of Sligo. Grainne and the team have made it our business to emphasise the importance of how quality natural foods can lead to wellness for our customers. Wellness is the conscious development of the whole self – an active process of becoming aware of and making choices towards a healthy and fulfilling life. It is more than being free from illness, it is a dynamic process of change and growth. It determines how we ultimately look, feel, interact with others, and thrive in life and work – the cornerstone of quality of life. We also stock a range of natural beauty products and eco-friendly cleaning products. For those in our locality, or just passing through, we have an in-store Organic Deli. This is Sligo’s only certified hot and cold vegetarian Deli, with a selection of Organic Raw Salads, Homemade Hummus, and Kimchi are made with the finest local ingredients. Our chefs bake daily and we serve Organic Tea, Java Republic Coffee, and homemade Kombucha. If this doesn’t tickle your fancy, we also provide a range of homemade smoothies. Our Smoothies are jam-packed with nutritious Organic ingredients including, Spirulina, Lacuma, Nut Butter, and Raw Cacao. The ever-so-popular ‘Green Living Smoothie’ is said to leave you feeling revived and energised for the day. Our Organic Soup, Veggie Lasagne, Frittata, Goats Cheese Tarts, and Daily Chef Specials are all available for sit-in or takeaway. But if you feel like something a little sweeter, you can treat yourself to a Turmeric Latte with a Tahini Chocolate or if you need a pick me up, try our Organic coffee with a slice of our tasty Homemade Banana Bread or nutritious Energy Balls. To add to our extensive list of products, we also stock a wide range of whole-foods, including fresh organic local vegetables from The Organic Centre and Tattie Hoaker Community Farm or you can choose from a variety of organic dried grains, pulses, herbs, and spices and a selection of gluten-free and sugar-free foods for customers with special dietary requirements.
