I tell people on a daily basis to get their shoes in a larger size (often 1 or 1 5 sizes bigger) so their toes have more space to operate. When I got bigger shoes my knee pain while walking disappeared. Even better get foot shaped shoes.

I saw a client recently some months after a hip replacement.

He was ecstatic with the surgery outcome, which had taken away the extreme pain he’d been suffering for years.

Although his balance had been feeling off since the surgery and there was still notable muscular tension and discomfort.

Posturally, his body had a forward lean and pulled to one side and there was an obvious elevation of one hip when standing and walking.

Following the gentle soft tissue treatment to align his pelvic bones and other structures, he remarked “ I feel taller and more balanced, I feel my feet have more connection to the ground.”

Furthermore, the muscular discomfort and tension through the hip had dissipated and the limp had drastically reduced. He walked out a lot straighter and without the sway he walked in with.

To cut a long story short, this gentle therapy can often help post hip replacement surgery (or any surgery for that matter). 😊
