Sligo Committee of The Rose of Tralee International Festival. Every year we organise a Rose Selection

The Sligo Rose Centre is part of the Rose of Tralee International Festival and holds the bi annual Sligo Rose Selection which chooses the Sligo Rose. The winning Rose then progresses to the Rose of Tralee International Festival. If you are interested in taking part next year, please call/text us on 0879135082 or email sligorose@gmail.com. As Megan McCormack, our wonderful Sligo Rose, begins a new adventure on the far side of the world, we want to wish her every happiness as she sets off for Australia.

Megan has represented Sligo with such grace, warmth, and genuine kindness — always shining with that unmistakable sparkle that makes her one of our own. She’s brought pride to her community, friendship to everyone she’s met, and a beautiful spirit that truly embodies what it means to be a Rose.

Though she may be trading the Wild Atlantic Way for the Australian sunshine, she’ll always carry a piece of Sligo with her — and we know her light will shine just as brightly down under.

Wishing you all the very best in this exciting new chapter, Megan. Australia is lucky to have you — and no matter how far you go, you’ll always be our Sligo Rose. 🌏💛🌹

The launch of 2026 Sligo Rose Selection took place on Sunday in our fabulous new host venue The Diamond Coast Hotel Enniscrone. We were delighted to kick off the seach for our next Sligo Rose in the presence of the current Sligo Rose Megan McCormack & the current Rose of Tralee Katelyn Cummins along with some of the Sligo Rose Entrants. Also present was Operations Director of the Rose of Tralee, Mr Steve Cronly. Massive thanks to Mary Clarke and all the staff at The Diamond Coast for their wonderful hospitality as always.
