Reiki is NOT Massage
Even though you get to feel so much lighter after a reiki session just like having a massage .
Reiki is different in that it works on all levels of your body .
Mental ,Emotional , Spiritual and Physical bodies will all hold energies , good and bad.
Reiki practitioners work as channels to access universal light force energy which comes down through the Reiki practitioner from the source (GOD) and the client receives the energy into the places that have the biggest imbalances of energy.
You may have a broken heart so the energy will go straight to the heart chakra to release loss , pain , anger , hurt and grief and frustration.
This will be released out of the heart chakra to the smaller secoundary chakras and off the body via the meridan lines.
Yes the hands can be placed lightly on the body or off but no massaging is done.
Just a light touch .
The client feels heat under the hand placements which shows them where the energy is stuck.
While the practitioner will remove it via dusting it to the floor.
Massage is more to do with physical touch with manipulation of the muscles and soft tissues sometimes with essential oils.
Reiki is very powerful so I feel it is overall a much greater treatment as it also works on all the other levels.
You could have a massage but still have a head thats melted with work issues or family problems , so a massage will only do the physical while Reiki gets to what is causing the aches and pains !!
