I am emailing you on behalf of the charity Féileacáin (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Support Group of Ireland) which is the National Charity supporting families affected by perinatal loss. As you may know October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness month and each year on October 15th there is a global “Wave of Light” where across the World at 7pm candles, monuments, landmarks and buildings are lit in the campaign's colours, blue and pink in memory of our babies. We hope turning buildings and landmarks blue and pink will spark conversations about baby loss and give bereaved parents and families an opportunity to talk about their precious babies.
Last year over 100 buildings including Hospitals, Castles, Hotels and Civic Buildings lit up blue and pink in honour of all our babies. It brought so much comfort to bereaved parents and their families.
We would appreciate if you can support us this year by lighting up blue and pink (or purple if only one colour is possible) on Wednesday 15th October. The official Wave of Light is 7-8pm but if you are in a position to support us. It has become a tradition now for many families to spend Babyloss Awareness Day driving or walking around and looking at their local buildings lighting up in Remembrance of their precious baby(s).
