A garden hose exposed to direct sunlight during summer can heat the water inside (not flowing) to 130/140 Fahrenheit (56-60°c) which can cause instantaneous burn. Leave the hose flow for short period before spraying children/pets.

Concussion, haemorrhaging, eye injuries, fractures, not to mention cardiac arrest for both people involved in the game and also those spectating!! If your team has not got trained up personnel you are taking a huge risk. Play with peace of mind that you are in good hands if any injury happens. DM me for information on first aid courses.

Thanks to Templemore Ladies Football for giving me this opportunity. I was able to give a demonstration on how to perform safe and effective compressions, how to use an AED and give people the chance to practice this hands on. Great interest from coaches, parents and players. Well done for being pro active. Knowledge is key. Learn CPR.

This player is stable in hospital due to the quick reactions of trained people around him.

Drowning is usually defined as death from asphyxia within 24 hours of submersion in water.
Recognise, Rescue, Resuscitate.
A child can drown in as little as 20seconds and in just a few inches of water.
Shout to bystanders to get help.

A CHILD SHOULD NEVER BE LEFT UNSUPERVISED NEAR WATER.

From Junior infants to 6th class, everyone can learn how to react or deal with an emergency. This essential life skill should be taught in our schools from an early age. Age appropriate classes from learning who to call to where we can locate a defibrillator. Is your school willing to include this during the academic year?

*size of premises
*type of activity at the workplace
*frequency of accidents
*presence of special hazards
Employers must provide one or more FA rooms in their workplace under their control if the risk assessment proves that it is necessary to do so.
