World Cancer Day 4th of February 2026..
To commemorate this important day what a better way than post a bit more about what I am doing in relation to my passion, interests and involvement for this topic.
🌱Yoga Therapy Group Class: I am a proud provider of the first Yoga Therapy group classes in Kerry for this cohort of patients. We started with Breast Cancer cohort and we have expanded to other types of cancer now.
This integrative class focus on the whole person health. Aiming to provide support to improved a person’s physical, energetic,emotional,social and spiritual well-being.

I first devised this program in 2017. Initially, it was for schools, but it has since grown to include a variety of groups and organisations.
I’m very proud of what we’ve accomplished with our Let’s Grow Happier initiative since then.

The programme’s offerings might range from simply holding space or creating a safe, non-judgemental space that supports growth and self-development to a specialised trauma-informed, carefully customised set of skills for connection.

The great success of Let’s Grow Happier with Coolmine participants demonstrates the program’s complementing element of fostering health, healing, and growth. It has been very inspirational to observe everyone supporting one another and adopting new ways to care for their well-being.

I’d like to thank the Coolmine team for their support of the initiative and all of the participants. Your encouragement and support are crucial to the program’s success an example to the community.

The How
The journey to healing can take many forms through the services I offer and the work I do.

Over the years, I’ve developed approaches that focus on empowering individuals with a customised set of tools designed for one-on-one work or specific group settings. Sometimes this simply means holding space or creating a safe environment that encourages growth and self-development.
Each approach focuses on observing the different layers of a person’s wellbeing and gently peeling them back until we return to an essential connection guided by a biopsychosocial approach.
 
The aim is not to focus on what is broken, but to re-emerge what is whole where wholeness embraces all aspects of being - the physical, mental, emotional, environmental, and spiritual self.
Noticing that our bodies and our breath are tellers that hold the stories of our life experiences. Therefore, my wellness experience, studies, curiosity, and observation of these patterns will then help me with the creation of the following complementary offerings:

-         Let’s Grow Happier programme: a wellness programme customised for a specific cohort and organisation. A combination of dance, yoga, Pilates, and somatic movements with elements of play therapy. (E.g., schools, clinics, government bodies)

-          Yoga therapy, or the therapeutic use of yoga backed by scientific research. One-on-one trauma informed sessions for individuals. (E.g., fibromyalgia, cancer, MND, MS, stress, sleep, fertility).

-          Yoga therapy tailored for a specific population group, providing a customised approach for that cohort. (E.g., cancer patients and survivors – specific health institutions, and organisations)

-          Group fitness classes.
Dance-movement —group dance classes and one-on-one classes. The fitness classes include Yoga, Pilates, and strength conditioning.
