ConnectWell

ConnectWell Kerry Peer Support Network is a non-profit Mental Health Support and Recovery Education organisation.

ConnectWell is a peer-led mental health organisation supporting recovery and wellbeing. We provide free, community-based, recovery-focused peer support groups across Cork & Kerry that offer safe, welcoming spaces where people with lived experience can connect, share, and support one another. We also deliver WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan) programmes throughout Ireland, helping individuals tak

e charge of their own mental health and wellbeing through structured, evidence-based tools. Our work is rooted in hope, connection, and lived experience. We believe that recovery is real — and we’re here to walk that journey together.

Ships don't sink because of the water around them. They sink because of the water that gets in them. Don't let what's going on around you get inside you and weigh you down. You're stronger than you know.

Allow yourself to be proud of yourself and all the progress you have made. Especially the progress no one else can see.

Repetitive complaining will attract more things to complain about.
Repeated gratitude will attract more things to be thankful for.

There is something in each day to be thankful for; you just have to find it.

How will you fill your cup this weekend? ☕It doesn’t have to be anything big — a walk, a bit of fresh air, time offline, or doing something you enjoy can go a long way. Take a moment to slow down and check in with yourself. What’s one thing you’ll do this weekend? 👇

Every day, our service provides more than just a meal.
It brings reassurance, regular contact, and practical support to people who rely on us.

We are currently delivering to 174 individuals — and that number is growing — across our community. These are people who count on us every single day.

Your donation helps us continue delivering meals and clean laundry by reaching those who need us most.

👉 Donate here:

What your donation can do:
▪ €10 could help cover meal ingredients
▪ €25 could support meal preparation and packing
▪ €50 could help with delivery costs — keeping our vans on the road, taxed, insured and maintained
▪ €100 could help keep the service running for more people in need

Every euro truly makes a difference. Thank you for supporting your community 💛

This powerful conversation from the HSE Talking Health and Wellbeing podcast.

Michael Ryan, Head of Mental Health Engagement and Recovery, speaks openly about his own journey through mental health challenges and addiction—and how that lived experience has shaped the work he does today.

What really stands out is the reminder that recovery is not something we do alone. It’s built on connection, understanding, and the value of peer support.

At ConnectWell, this is something we see every day—how sharing our stories can create hope, reduce stigma, and support others on their own journey.
It highlights something we strongly believe in: the importance of lived experience and the vital role of peer support in recovery.

Recovery is possible—and conversations like this help keep that message alive.

A really worthwhile listen 💚

In this episode of the HSE Talking Health and Wellbeing Podcast, we explore Mental Health Recovery, the importance of person-centered, recovery-oriented care and how mental health services in Ireland are evolving. Our guest shares his personal journey and highlights the importance of lived experience, peer support and recovery education in supporting people on their recovery journey.

The conversation emphasises hope, empowerment and collaboration, encouraging listeners to view recovery as a shared and ongoing process.
