How many men have had a blood pressure, pulse & health check in the past few years?
Prevention is better than cure, and we know this works for prevention of Cardiovascular Disease.
Knowing the signs & symptoms of a heart attack could save your life!

On TUESDAY 27TH January starting @ 8pm in the Parish Centre, Park Road (V93 WN32), we have a night focused on younger men aged 30-60 years old who may not visit their GP for an annual check-up.

We’re delighted to welcome guest speaker, former Senior Kerry footballer Darragh Roche of RocheFit gym, who will tell his own story of having had a heart attack at 29 years of age.

Dr Rosemary Kelliher & Dr Danielle O’ Leary of GP Care Killarney will also be present on the night, to answer any questions or concerns you may have to discuss your heart health.

This is a very special night for all men, and for those who care about them. ALL are WELCOME!

Event Timetable & Programme:
7.30pm - Blood Pressure & Pulse checks start & continue through the event.
8.00pm - Guest Speaker Former Kerry footballer Darragh Roche tells us his amazing cardiac story!
8.20pm - Dr. Rosemary Kelliher & Dr. Danielle O'Leary talk about Heart Health Care in general followed by our usual valuable Question & Answer Session.
8.55pm - Teas/Coffees and Chats.Our Nurses will continue the B.P & Pulse checks until 9.30pm.

Key Responsibilities:
✅ Provide expert physiotherapy care across acute medical conditions including respiratory, neurology, cardiology, elderly care, oncology, and rheumatology
✅ Manage complex patient cases, ensuring the highest standard of care and rehabilitation
✅ Provide respiratory cover at weekends, including in HDU
✅ Work alongside multidisciplinary medical teams to create personalized treatment plans
✅ Respond proactively to the changing needs of the department

What we’re looking for:
✅ CORU membership (required)
✅ Extensive experience in acute medical care, including respiratory, neurology, cardiology, and elderly care
✅ Desirable experience in HDU, vestibular rehabilitation, and lymphoedema management
✅ Post-graduate courses or CPD in relevant acute medical conditions (highly desirable)
✅ Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team
✅ Flexibility to cover weekend respiratory shifts

Due to increased flu cases, visitor restrictions are now in place.

Visiting Hours:
• 2–4pm & 6–8pm ONLY
• One visitor per patient
• Masks required for all visitors

About Influenza:
Flu is a viral respiratory illness that spreads easily through coughs, sneezes, and contaminated surfaces. Symptoms include cough, fever, congestion, body aches, and exhaustion.

Please Help Protect Patients:
• Wash hands frequently
• Practice good cough/sneeze hygiene
• Do not leave food uncovered in patient rooms
• Avoid visiting if you are pregnant, have young children, a long-term condition, or if you feel unwell
• Do not visit if you have flu symptoms—return only when symptom-free for 48 hours
