I fecking love when clients cancel sessions for reasons like this.

Especially when the client is in his 70’s and started sessions with me because his balance was getting worse to the point he was worried about leaving the house.

When lockdown hit, we continued our sessions via WhatsApp video calls.

These days we do a mix of face to face and whatsapp.

From being nervous about leaving the house, to heading off up the country to catch up with his buddies, what fecking turnaround!!

Walking proof that regular exercise can add life to your years as well as adding years to your life.

Liz was stuck in a rut, and had worked with coaches in the past, but didn't really get the outcome she needed.

We had 2 sessions of personal coaching with a week between them, and this was some of the feedback she gave during her 2nd session.

"I've made more progress in the last week than I have in years working with other coaches. You asked really good questions, and gave me space to think and form a clear answer.."

"I left the session with clear steps to take each day, and the 2-minute tasks were especially helpful for me."

Short days. Dark, wet evenings. This time of year normally impacts on people’s mental health anyway. Add a 6 week lockdown to that, and even more of us will be struggling.

Exercise is well known to help improve the mood and lessen feelings associated with depression & isolation, and it only takes a few minutes a day to get the benefits.

So I’m making my 5 minute fitness program free for the next 6 weeks.

Did you know that sleep problems are associated with an increased risk of developing pain and is also associated with the spread of pain to multiple parts of your body. While most people recognise that pain can lead to poor sleep; poor sleep is also a strong risk factor for pain. So it is very worthwhile to look at your sleep habits/routine and look at simple ways to enhance the duration/quality of your sleep.

Sleep loss is:
👉Pro-inflammatory.
👉Contributes to peripheral- & central-sensitization.
👉Impairs descending inhibition.
👉Influences reward systems & dopaminergic transmission.
👉Impairs cognitive & attentional processes.

If you've struggled in the past to make healthy habits that last, I'm working on something that could be a big help.. Drop a comment below with the healthy habits you'd like to make a part of your life.

We are all products of our actions; anything we do regularly becomes a mental habit, and a physical adaptation... our bodies adapt to become better at doing those things, no matter what they are.

Be lazy ~ feel lazy.
Be active ~ feel like doing something active.

If you want to change some of your actions, it’s usually best to start with small changes. You’re more likely to succeed, and this success will help you stay motivated.
That’s a much better option than trying to make a load of big changes and not being able to follow through because it was just too much.
