Introducing the Advanced Menopause Clinic at Cooper MediCare

Dr Michelle Cooper has completed advanced training in menopause medicine and regularly attends professional menopause education events to ensure up-to-date, evidence-based care.

We are delighted to now offer private menopause consultations, with availability for both existing patients and those who are not currently registered with the practice.

Our patient list is also open, and we are happy to welcome new patients and families to the practice.

In response to the recent rise in respiratory illnesses within the community, our practice will be providing an additional respiratory-focused clinic after 5:00pm on Monday, January 12th, 2026.

This dedicated clinic is intended for patients who are currently experiencing respiratory symptoms and may require timely clinical assessment.
We encourage anyone who feels they may benefit from this service to contact our reception team for further information and to enquire about appointment availability.

FREE CONTRACEPTION SCHEME🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️

Cooper MediCare are happy to announce that we are partaking in the free contraception scheme, which is now live.

Patients between the ages of 17 and 25 years old (right up to the day prior to their 26th birthday) with a PPS number will be eligible for free contraception.

The Government will now fund the cost of your GP consultation to discuss contraceptive options as well as the cost of any prescription contraception that is required. This includes the pill, vaginal rings, patches, intra-uterine coils and injections. Follow-up visits are also covered.

We hope the Government decides to expand the eligibility criteria in the future but this is progress.

UKRAINE DONATIONS APPEAL
Thank you to everybody who shared my most recent post requesting donations of vouchers for Ukranian families.
We are looking to gather together outdoor equipment for children such as bicycles, helmets, baby push cars, scooters, footballs, basketballs, skipping ropes and hula hoops. A soccer net and basketball net including bicycles and helmets for teenagers and adults are also required.
O’Neills transport, Dromthacker, Tralee are happy to accept these items between 9 am and 4 pm Monday to Friday for delivery.

UKRAINE DONATIONS APPEAL
I am involved in local support efforts with Tralee International Resource Centre, assisting people of the UKRAINE who recently arrived to Tralee.
These refugees are currently being accommodated in a centre in the Tralee area. Many Ukranian mothers in this centre are in genuine and urgent need of basic supplies and medical essentials for their families.
If anyone wishes to help, they can do so by donating vouchers (One For All, Pennys, Pharmacy, Grocery, Restaurant/Take-away). This will enable mothers to purchase the items that they personally require for their families. Vouchers can be dropped to St. Vincent de Paul (Friary Lane or Castle Street) in an envelope marked UKRAINE. St. Vincent de Paul will ensure that the vouchers are distributed directly to Ukranian families.
The aid centres currently have plenty of toys and clothes.
If anybody would like to donate a basketball net or a soccer net to go to the centre please PM me. These items must be new and not used.

From today, children aged between five and 11 years old who have a high-risk health condition, or who live with someone who is high-risk, can be registered by a parent or guardian to receive a Pfizer/BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine.

FREE PFIZER COVID-19 BOOSTER available for patients of Cooper MediCare.

To be eligible you must be over the age of 16 and it must be at least 3 months since your second dose of vaccine.

A 6-month interval applies to patients who were diagnosed with a COVID-19 infection and who were fully vaccinated.

A 1 month interval applies to patients who were diagnosed with COVID-19 who were only partially vaccinated.
