Following on from my IG stories post, I have had a few messages asking which course I did and how I gained my qualification, so I thought I would explain a little more about my journey.
I trained in Reproflexology with Barbara Scott, who founded Reproflexology and has worked extensively within fertility. I specifically chose her course because of how evidence informed and medically aware it is, while still being beautifully holistic.
Once accepted onto the course, the training itself went far deeper than standard reflexology. We covered detailed anatomy and physiology of the male and female reproductive systems, the endocrine system, and the hormonal interplay involved in natural conception and assisted cycles.
There was a strong medical element, including understanding conditions such as PCOS, endometriosis, fibroids, unexplained infertility, and male factor fertility. We also looked at how assisted conception works, including IVF and ICSI, and how to safely and appropriately support clients alongside medical treatment.
The practical side focused on specific reflexology protocols designed to support each phase of the menstrual cycle, for assisted conception, the two week wait, and early pregnancy support. We were taught how to adapt treatments depending on cycle stage, diagnosis, and whether a client was trying naturally or going through a clinic.
The qualification required in depth study, practical training days, case studies and assessment to demonstrate safe and competent practice. It was a proper commitment to understanding reproductive health from both a complementary and medical perspective.
It has completely changed the way I work and the level of support I can offer.
