About Damian McManamon
Hello, I’m Damian. I’m an integrative holistic psychotherapist, supporting clients through trauma, attachment challenges, and emotional struggles. My work is about helping people create a sense of safety and connection within themselves, so they can explore their experiences at their own pace.
My Approach
I focus on creating a space where clients feel safe and supported as they engage with their experiences at their own pace. Therapy is a collaborative process, exploring patterns, emotions, and life experiences with curiosity and compassion. While no approach fits everyone, I endeavour to meet each person where they are, helping them develop greater choice, presence, and self-compassion.Areas of Focus.
I support clients navigating:
Childhood, developmental, and relational trauma
Attachment and relationship challenges
Anxiety, depression, and emotional overwhelm
Loss, grief, and bereavement
Eating disorders and body image distress
Shame, low self-worth, and identity struggles
Parenting, family dynamics, and life transitions
Sports and performance anxiety
Integration of conflicting or fragmented inner parts
Men’s and womens mental health and emotional wellbeing.
Professional Background
I trained twenty six years ago as a physical therapist which informs my understanding of the connection between mind, body, spirit and emotions. My personal and professional experiences have given me insight into the challenges people face and the courage it takes to engage with their inner world. I specialise in body psychotherapy, and the links between trauma and how its held in the body.
Philosophy of Wellbeing
I believe small, everyday practices—time in nature, grounding, restorative sleep, nourishing food, or mindful moments—support emotional and nervous system wellbeing. Therapy is about non judgemental connection, empathy, and support, helping you feel more human, more regulated, and more alive in a world that often pulls us away from ourselves and our connection to ourselves which is vital for health and well being.
