Bethany House Nursing Home is a 90 bed family run nursing home located in the beautiful village of Tyrrellspass. The Nursing Home has been in existence for almost 20 years and has built its strong reputation and good name for delivering the highest of standards in person centred care. We strive to provide a safe, inviting and homely environment for all our residents, whilst promoting independence and providing a sense of purpose for all residents. Our aim is to deliver a service which offers life enhancing experiences to all who call Bethany House their home.

💍✨ A day full of joy at the nursing home! Today we celebrated a beautiful mock wedding between Noel and Róisín. Residents and staff gathered to enjoy a ceremony filled with laughter, smiles, and love.

🍰 Delicious food and sweet treats were shared, with plenty of tea, coffee, wine and even a celebratory toast.
🎶 Music filled the room, setting the perfect scene for dancing, clapping, and sing-alongs.

The day reminded us all of the importance of togetherness, fun, and making memories. ❤️

A Taste of Home – Celebrating Nursing Home Week

Last week, we celebrated Nursing Home Week with a theme close to our hearts – "A Taste of Home." The air was filled with the warm aroma of freshly baked bread, cakes, and comforting home-cooked meals, bringing back cherished memories of family kitchens and Sunday dinners.

Residents shared stories of their favorite recipes, the special meals that brought families together, and the joy of baking for loved ones. It was more than just food – it was a celebration of connection, tradition, and the little things that make a house a home.

🧁 A Sweet Day at Ballycommon Bake House! 🧁

Today, we had the absolute pleasure of bringing some of our wonderful nursing home residents to the charming Ballycommon Bake House for a special outing. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm smiles and the comforting aroma of freshly baked treats.

Our residents enjoyed delicious scones, cakes, and a lovely cup of tea while sharing stories, laughter, and memories. The Bake House team were incredibly kind and accommodating, making everyone feel right at home.

We had the joy of taking a group of residents on an outing to the beautiful friary in Multyfarnham and the serene Abbey Blooms .Surrounded by nature and history, Our residents enjoyed the calming atmosphere and a quiet moment in the chapel and exploring the gardens.We enjoyed a stroll through the floral displays and shared stories over tea ,sandwiches and scones .Thanks to the community Garda bus for the transport. A lovely day had by all.

We had a wonderful Father's Day celebration at the Nursing home with Our Dad's! .The day was filled with laughter, drinks,delicious donuts ,and Dylan singing a few tunes.

Today was a day full of laughter and strikes as residents from the nursing home took a special trip to the local bowling alley! With shoes laced up and spirits high, they showed that fun has no age limit. From friendly competition to cheering each other on, the outing was a perfect mix of exercise, socializing, and pure joy.

Today was a beautiful day at the nursing home as we rolled up our sleeves and cleaned up the vegetable patch! With the sun shining and a gentle breeze in the air, many of our amazing residents joined in—pulling weeds, tidying rows, and sharing stories while they worked. The garden is looking fresh and ready for planting, all thanks to the wonderful team spirit and laughter we shared. It’s more than just gardening—it’s about community, connection, and care.

Today was filled with Irish cheer as Johnny and joe brought the music to life with lively tunes and classic Irish favourite .Residents clapped ,sang a long and even danced a jig.The room was filled with laughter, green decorations and plenty of shamrocks.

A Memorable Visit to Kilbeggan’s Locke’s Distillery

We had the pleasure of visiting Locke’s Distillery, the oldest licensed distillery in Ireland. Stepping into this historic site felt like traveling back in time, with its beautifully preserved buildings, old copper pot stills, and the unmistakable aroma of aging whiskey in the air. We would like to thank Alisha and her team for the lovely cakes and coffee.
