Should you be using a dressing pack?

I have had a few people message me about this, saying that they are being told not to use dressing packs for wound care.

It's probably a lack of knowledge and the fact that this is ANOTHER expense for businesses who provide wound care ........but here are the guidelines👌

You should be using at least a basic dressing pack (plastic tray, forceps and gauze) when performing any wound care.

I see it more in nursing home settings to be honest but it could be happening elsewhere 🤷‍♀️

3 signs your dressing plan needs updating👇

One of the most common reasons wounds stall is that you are using the same dressing long after the wound has changed.

Wounds evolve......your plan has to evolve with them.

Here are the top signs it's time to review your approach:
1️⃣ Exudate has changed
2️⃣ Patient pain has increased
3️⃣ Periwound skin is deteriorating

And remember if a wound hasn't improved, reassessment is essential!
