A big thank you to Ann, Cavan Sports Partnership, Shercock GFC and Shercock Hall Committee for facilitating our Yoga for Injury Prevention taster class on Friday as part of Women in Sport week. 🧘‍♀️

We enjoyed a mix of traditional yoga flows, some relaxation and most importantly some ankle and knee mobility tips and tricks to to support injury prevention in training.

Sessions like this can be a great addition for clubs looking to help players stay strong, mobile and match-ready throughout the season.

New term starts this evening in the Virginia Show Centre at 7:30pm. This is a great class for those who like a little challenge and strengthening in their asana practice with plenty of progressions available. Just show up with your mat - we'll be upstairs.

Pay as you go spaces available (€15 for PAYG or €50 for the term) this evening and for ongoing Wednesday classes. Wednesday evenings are particularly great for those just getting into yoga or preferring a little less intensity but we'll still work up a little heat but slowly and mindfully of course.

Then coming into the weekend I have a nice combo class package for a strengthening and sculpting Iron Yoga with weights session on Friday evening, followed by a Yin yoga class on Saturday morning to help with your recovery. More info and booking here -

💪We'll be getting those small but mighty weights out (1.5kg) - balancing and pulsing our way into the weekend (slowly & mindfully of course 🧘‍♂️). Think chair pose combined with bicep curls or holding a high lunge while doing tricep curls. There's so much good stuff in this class, and some of it is indeed tough but it's always a good laugh and we always take plenty of time to ease ourselves in. And you will feel amazing after!

⚽️🏃‍♀️If you’ve been coming to any classes recently you'll know I'm all about foot mobility - it can be a game changer, everything starts with the feet - and that is especially true when it comes to performance and injury avoidance in sport. Needless to say I am really excited about my upcoming Yoga for Injury Prevention in Sport 4 week intensive programme. You can taste what's to come in this tomorrow in Shercock for just €3! This taster class is funded by Cavan Sports Partnership to celebrate Women in Sport week. To book the taster class get in touch with Ann on 0879404566.
The actual 4 week programme will start next Friday in my studio and there are just 6 spaces available. The programme will include:
- weekly in person 75min group classes in the studio
- a little bit of weekly homework to maximise your results
- a dedicated support channel to keep you on track

Join me for a taster class to discover how you can use Yoga for Injury Prevention in Sport! Kindly funded by Cavan Sports Partnership to celebrate Women in Sport week with Shercock Gfc.

This taster class will focus on ankle and knee mobility – two of the most commonly injured areas in sport.

👣 Why start with the feet?
Because your feet are your foundation. Every sprint, pivot, jump, and tackle starts with your feet. When foot and ankle mobility are limited, extra pressure travels up to the knees – increasing the risk of strains, sprains, and ACL injuries. Improving strength and mobility in your feet and ankles helps your knees track better, absorb force more efficiently, and keep you match-ready.

This class is suitable for anyone in sport, of all ages and levels – whether you’re a minor, junior, intermediate, or senior. No previous yoga experience needed!

Was so nice to have the sun finally peering through the studio during our Yin yoga class yesterday. Was such a nice class in every sense - the movement, the stillness, the lovely chats and people.
Next Saturday we're on a different mission and back to pumping Iron 💪 but in the most mindful and yogi way possible!

📆Wednesday, 7:30pm
Virginia Show Centre
Traditional Hatha yoga infused with movements to improve joint health, range of motion, and functional strength. Varying levels of difficulty available so you can practice tuning into your body’s signals, learning when to soften, when to stay, and when to explore a little more. We'll also practice some breathwork and techniques to support focus, calm, and resilience.
Just show up with your mat if you have one. We'll be upstairs.

Mixed Levels Aerial Yoga
A supported stretch and strengthen session with moments of flying fun. We'll finish with a floating relaxation. A great class for regulars seeking a balanced practice or those who have tried a few Aerial Yoga classes previously.

Ease yourself into the world of Aerial Yoga one breath at a time with this beginners class. Absolutely zero experience needed. 2 spaces left.

The Friday Float...a very soothing 90 minute Aerial session for a Gentle Stretch, Floating Breathwork & Meditation.
The perfect way to release the stress of your week and recharge. You'll enjoy:

• Gentle and restorative stretches in an aerial hammock to relieve your body and mind of tension and stress.
• Guided breathwork to help you forget about the noise, take your focus inward and settle into a state of relaxation.
• A guided meditation while you float weightlessly in the silk.

No experience required! The silk will be hung at knee level so you can enjoy this experience without the effort of standing up or fear of being up high. All movement is optional.

Yin Yoga
We'll move at a snail's pace through a series of seated and reclined poses, holding them for longer (2 - 5 mins) to target tension in our muscles, fascia, ligaments and joints. This is a great practice for supporting your recovery from sports/ exercise but also a wonderful standalone practice to help downshift your nervous system and start your weekend calm and rested.

My studio is small and intimate with a capacity of just 6 people for mat based classes and 4 for Aerial so please book studio classes ahead online if you'd like a space. Here's the link:

Whether it's a beginners, mixed levels or improvers Aerial Yoga class you're coming to we...

• Always take a little time to arrive, breathe and ease our bodies in gently - with slow and mindful stretching and movement, supported and often deepened by the silk.
• Once we're warmed up we gradually increase the intensity and shift from stretching to strengthening - there are endless fun and interesting ways to work every single muscle and you'll feel it in your core, arms, shoulders and legs. It hits differently to other practices and routines, and if you are consistent you'll feel and see the shifts quicker than you think!
• Our strengthening flow leads us into a dopamine and adrenaline hit or 2 and an inversion (going upside down). The inversion is a key part of the practice - releasing any sense of compression you might feel in your back (due to posture or habits) by lengthening your spine out completely. It also helps us drain our bodies of toxins by boosting circulation and lymphatic drainage - the systems that keep our bodies regulated and optimized.
• After all our hard work we give ourselves time to catch our breath and decompress, to absorb the effects of our practice and just float and be - weightless and restored. There's nothing quite as soothing as a floating savasana.
