We fully understand and respect the enormity in choosing the right residential care home for your loved one. Our approach is simple, we provide support through a free consultation and tour of our community. During this consultation we will find out the specific needs of your loved one, explain our approach to care and answer any questions you may have about Bishopscourt. We always encourage that you should visit more than one home in order to make an informed decision. A very special celebration at Bishopscourt Nursing Home yesterday, as our wonderful resident Noreen marked her 83rd birthday on November 26th 🥳💛

Noreen received warm wishes from residents and staff throughout the day, and one moment made it extra memorable: Our fantastic Activities Assistant, Fiona, learned how to sign “Happy Birthday” in Irish Sign Language ISL especially for Noreen. 🤟🎂

Fiona spent time practicing and perfecting the sign with the help of an online tutorial — a beautiful gesture that meant the world to Noreen and to all of us who witnessed it. https://youtu.be/35LS5_rKtF0

It was a truly heartwarming celebration filled with smiles, care, and connection.

A Week of Relaxation & Fun at Bishopscourt Nursing Home, Cork and we enjoyed a lovely mix of pampering and playfulness this week.

Our residents Margaret and Mary were treated to a relaxing afternoon of hand massages, followed by a fresh coat of nail polish. A little self-care goes a long way, and the smiles said it all. 💅

Later in the week, we had a fun-filled morning of snakes and ladders with Maureen and Mary, while others put their minds to the test with jigsaw puzzles — including Hannah and Ita. Games like these bring joy, connection, and great mental stimulation.

We had a Busy and Fun-Filled Week at Bishopscourt Nursing Home, Cork 🎨🧩🎈

From coloring and knitting to bingo, games, and keeping up to date with the Presidential Inauguration, it’s been a week full of laughter, learning, and connection🥰

As always our Residents had lots of choice in their daily activities:
🟢 Mamie loved the Bingo session
🟢 Mur, Mamie & Esther had a blast playing the balloon game
🟢 Eileen & Hannah enjoyed some relaxing coloring
🟢 Margaret & Mary, Mur & Esther were fascinated by reading about the inauguration of President Catherine Connolly

At Bishopscourt, every day brings something new and exciting — there’s always something for everyone to enjoy - thanks to our team and to the Activities Coordinators 💖

Here are some lovely photos from last Thursday’s exercise session at Bishopscourt Nursing Home, Cork Home with Amayo from Siel Bleu Ireland 💪

Christine showed off her boxing skills before moving on to some resistance band work, pulling the rings with great effort and focus. 🥊
Eileen joined in with some boxing too, while Maureen practised balancing the ring on her head — brilliant coordination 👏
Mur also took part, pulling the rings with the resistance band and giving it her all. 💪

It’s always great to see everyone staying active and having fun during these engaging sessions with Siel Bleu! 💚

We recently held a Safeguarding Adults Information Afternoon with our residents — over a lovely cup of tea, coffee, and biscuits. ☕🍪

This initiative, led by Grace Healthcare Ireland aims to promote the rights, safety, and wellbeing of older adults across their ten nursing homes. 🙌💙

It was a warm and engaging session that reminded us all that everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and heard. 🕊️

A big thank you to all who took part and helped make the afternoon so special. 💛

🎃👻 Things got a little spooky here at Bishopscourt Residential Care
Our fun resident Hannah had everyone laughing with her wicked witch cackle, while Alicia (our skeleton nurse!) gave Michelle (our chef) quite the fright! 😱
And of course, Margaret and Megan kept the Halloween spirit alive on the dance floor 💃🕺 Dancing to the music of the fabulous Irish Weavers 🥰

🎃👻 Halloween Fun at Bishopscourt 👻🎃

Our Residents and their loved ones had a spook-tacular time at this year’s Halloween Party! Everyone made a fantastic effort to dress up and really get into the Halloween spirit 🧡🖤.

Big thanks to Irish Weavers for keeping everyone singing and clapping along with wonderful music 🎶, and to our amazing Chef Michelle for the delicious treats that kept energy (and smiles!) high 😋🍴.

It’s these moments that make memories so special — thank you to everyone who joined in the fun and to our Activities Coordinators and all the staff who helped make it such a magical day. 💛

💜 Fun & Friendship at Bishopscourt Residential Care 💜 where it’s been another wonderful week filled with laughter, creativity, and great company
🎈 The Floor is Lava!
Our residents had a fantastic time playing the “balloon must not hit the floor” game — lots of laughter and quick reactions as everyone kept the balloon from touching the ‘lava’ 😄🔥
(Hannah, Eileen, Mir and Christine were just some of those getting in on the fun!)

🧶 Knitting Time
Our talented resident Ita is busy creating a beautiful scarf — just in time to keep cozy this winter. 🧣💖

🥊 Exercise with Amayo of Siel Bleu Ireland a social enterprise and a non for profit organisation who transform lives through exercise

🏋️‍♀️🏋We’ve welcomed Amayo, who has taken over from Kuba while he’s away in Australia. He’s absolutely fantastic — the residents love his energetic classes (including some fun boxing moves) and always join in with great enthusiasm 👏
